Dave W: Transmitter changes at Rowridge do not take place until next year. I would suggest reporting the problem to the person running the B&B and asking them to check if any other TVs connected to the same aerial have lost Dave or any other channels.

David Hitchin: It looks like the BBC are aware of the problem, according to the transmitter engineering post which has appeared below yours. If you are definitely tuned to the correct transmitter then there must have been some sort of failure with the feed for BBC 1 South East, resulting in the transmitter taking the London feed as a backup (some transmitter have a backup satellite feed in case the main underground fibre feed fails, which may not have all regions available).

raymond harris: That sounds like you're suffering with interference from something operating on a timer, or possibly have a bad connection somewhere.

How is the Fire stick being powered? Is it connected to a USB port on the TV? If so, try connecting it via the mains adaptor which should have been supplied in the box (the TV's USB port may not be providing enough power for the Fire stick to operate properly).

Peter Wright: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and predicted signal strenght etc (you've posted on the page for the Minehead FM radio transmitter which doesn't broadcast Freeview).

Bernie : BBC Radio London has been on Freeview in London and surrounding areas since at least last year. If you get either BBC London, BBC East or BBC South East regional news on BBC1, you should find BBC Radio London on Freeview channel 721.

DONALD KIRKBRIDE: The HD channels are found on numbers 101-115, what do you get if you go to channel 101? What are the model numbers of your Toshiba box and Samsung TV? To receive HD channels on Freeview you need a receiver with a DVB-T2 tuner (usually labelled Freeview HD) - a TV that says HD Ready isn't enough as this only indicates that the screen is able to display a HD picture from a HDMI input.

MikeB: The Fire sticks I've recently setup are powered by a micro USB cable which connects from the Fire stick to either a USB port on the TV or the 5V USB mains adaptor supplied in the box. The link you posted to the setup instructions on Amazon shows this.

DONALD KIRKBRIDE: I suspect that what you are seeing is the picture being upscaled to 1080i by the DVD player as DVDs don't support 1080i video. As per my last post, please tell us the make and model of the TV and DVD player so that we can establish whether either have a DVB-T2 tuner, giving you the capability to watch HD channels.

Nick Anderson: Broadcasting extra regions on Freeview would mean that additional broadcast capacity would be needed, which could only happen by taking capacity from other channels. The only other way to do it would be via Red Button+ where additional content is made available via your internet connection (this requiring a smart or internet connected TV/set top box) and of course you can watch regional news from any region on iPlayer.

JOSETTE GERLIER: There have been no technical changes announced for Channel 4 and therefore no need to retune. I've got program data for Friday but I can't see data for any of Channel 4's various channels on Freeview from Saturday onwards. I suspect this is probably just a fault with data supplied by Channel 4 that should be resolved soon.
