ANDY KUIPERS: Your only 6km away from the Fenham transmitter so start by checking behind your TV for any loose/damaged cables or connections. Although further away, Pontop Pike is also predicted to give a good signal at your location so it would be worth checking which you are using and that your TV is tuned to the correct transmitter. For Fenham, your aerial will be pointing roughly south with the little rods in the vertical position (pointing up and down) whereas for Pontop Pike it will be pointing more to the west of south with the little rods horizontal (pointing side to side).

Sue Huskisson: Retuning will never fix a problem with a weak or non existent signal as the TV was already correctly tuned and all you've achieved is to potentially delete the missing channels. If both TVs are fed from the same aerial but one isn't working then you have a fault with the cable going from the splitter/amplifier to that TV. If you've checked all the cabling and connections yourself without success then it's time to call in a professional.

Ogilvie Jackson: A message about weak signals would indicate engineering work, although no notice has appeared on this website regarding engineering at Caldbeck (which is odd as this website's transmitter engineering posts are taken from a BBC engineering feed).

If the remaining multiplexes are converted to DVB-T2 (as currently used by PSB3, COM7 & COM8 muxes) there will be sufficient space available to accommodate all existing channels, although no announcement has been made as to when this will actually happen.

All free TV channels in the UK

Penny: YourTV don't appear to have an online player. If you provide a full postcode we can see whether it is available to you via Freeview. If your TV was purchased in the last few years it will almost certainly have a Freeview tuner built in, although if you do need to buy a set top box make sure you get one that supports Freeview HD, as a non-HD box won't be able to receive all the available channels and will likely be obsolete in a few years anyway.

All free TV channels in the UK

Charis: You don't need to do anything, your Sky box will continue receiving all the free to air (FTA) channels when your subscription ends. Leave the viewing card in place you will continue to see your existing BBC/ITV/Channel 4 region on 101-104 and you will continue to receive a few extra free to view (FTV) channels (such as Sony Movie Channel and Motors TV).

Liz manson: STV2 was created by STV acquiring several local TV licences to broadcast to several cities across Scotland. There is no large town or city served by Rumster Forest so therefore no local TV licence was advertised for the area as it would not have been financially viable for any broadcaster to run a local TV service in an area of relatively low population. STV2 is available on Sky channel 117 across all areas which receive STV on 103, as well as via STV's website and smart phone/smart TV apps.

Talking Pictures TV
Wednesday 28 June 2017 4:19PM

R penswick : Talking Pictures is working fine for me. Are you missing any other channels such as BBC News HD on 107, which is broadcast on the COM7 multiplex along with Talking Pictures? Have you checked for any loose cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so we can see which transmitter you're using and where you are in relation to it.

Mel Pearson: The changes to Planet Rock were made over a year ago. If you have lost the station more recently then you either have a fault or are suffering with local interference. Please provide a full postcode so we can see where you are and which transmitters are receivable at your location (DAB operates using a single frequency network so you will likely be receiving signals from more than just Emley Moor).
