JOHN DICKSON: Your previous post was entirely in capitals, which is considered to be shouting.

Bear: Reigate broadcasts the PSB3 multiplex, which carries BBC1 HD, BBC2 HD, ITV HD, Channel 4 HD, Channel 5 HD & CBBC HD. It doesn't broadcast COM7 or COM 8 which carry additional HD channels such as BBC4 HD, BBC News HD, CBeebies HD, Channel4 +1 HD, 4Seven HD, Al Jazeera HD, RT HD, BT Showcase HD and SD channels such as FreeSports, Forces TV, Keep It Country and various others. If you provide a full postcode you'll be able to access the Digital UK coverage checker, which will indicate whether Crystal Palace is likely to provide good reception at your location.

Bear: The coverage checker shows Crystal Palace to be the best transmitter at your location. If you don't have any HD channels on 101-115 then your TV does not have the correct tuner required for HD channels on Freeview (if your TV had a HD Ready or Full HD logo that just indicates the it can display a HD picture via a HDMI input). You would need a TV or set top box/PVR with the Freeview HD logo to receive HD channels.

Kenneth Johnson: Main transmitters are all monitored remotely so it's unlikely that a fault with the transmitter wouldn't be noticed by either the broadcaster or Arqiva (the company responsible for operating the transmitters). The PSB broadcasters (BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 & S4C) all have viewer services departments (or similar) who would be able to pass on reports of a transmitter problem (i.e. if lots of people from one area called in reporting a problem it would be more likely to be a transmitter fault than if only one person calls in who could easily have a fault with their TV or aerial system). There is also the Radio & Television Investigation Service (see link below). Freeview is just a marketing brand used to promote the UK's Digital Terrestrial TV platform and doesn't have anything to do with broadcasting any channels or operating any transmitters.

Rob Mac: There has been no engineering work taking place at the transmitter (the last engineering notice is nearly a year old). If the you are loosing channels at the same time every day it is very likely that you are suffering from electrical interference being generated by something operating on a timer, most likely something with an electric motor such as a central heating pump, which would come on at the same time every day.

Mrs Allen: If you have a stable internet connection (ideally 5Mbps or faster) there are various movie subscripition services that are worth considering. As this website is focused on free TV I won't go in to detail, but Amazon Prime, Netflix and Now TV are all worth looking at.

Neil patterson: An engineering notice has appeared since you posted, stating that the transmitter went off air at 09:55 this morning (it doesn't give a reason). Do not attempt to retune.

Stockland Hill (Devon, England) transmitter
Wednesday 22 November 2017 11:33AM

Geoff Wright: Stockland Hill already broadcasts the SDN (COM4), ArqA (COM5) and ArqB (COM6) multiplexes, although they are only broadcast at half the power of the PSB multiplexes. If you provide a full postcode you'll be able to access a coverage prediction for your location.

D mcphail: There are no faults showing for Durris. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted signal strength etc.

Bernadete Fagan: The transmitter engineering post above yours shows that the transmitter was off for a couple of hours this afternoon.
