Malcolm Dixon: You appear to be aware of the Freeview Advice Line, but have you actually tried contacting them?

Roger Scott & Michael: If you can't restore the missing channels by manual tuning then you should contact the Freeview Advice Line (see link below) who should be able to arrange for a replacement aerial to be fitted (free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable).

colin1951uk: Are you certain that the 18 element Yagi aerial is a wideband and not a Group A aerial? Is it mounted horizontally (with the little rods side to side) or vertically (with the rods going up and down)? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter.

Stuart Ralston: There have been no changes to the frequencies used for Pick, Dave and Really so you should start looking for a problem with your aerial system. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV and follow the cable back towards the aerial as far as you can safely access. Do not attempt to retune. The Digital UK checker doesn't show any other transmitter which would provide these channels at your location (this website doesn't operate any transmitter).

John: We need to know which transmitter you're using, so please provide a full postcode.

Mr Blenkinsop: There are no faults showing for either the Pontop Pike or Newton transmitters, so the most likely explanation is that your aerial system has been damaged by the recent bad weather. Although, it would be worth checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV just in case.

David Warner: The COM7 & COM8 multiplexes changed frequencies at Crystal Palace early this morning to UHF channels 55 & 56. If you can't restore the missing channels by manual tuning then you most likely have a Group A aerial which is not designed to receive these higher frequencies. If you don't have satellite or cable you may be eligible for a free replacement wideband aerial which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).

Raymond: Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using. Various transmitters have undergone frequency changes in the last few weeks, with some viewers needing new aerials to restore the missing channels (there is a scheme to provide free replacement aerials for viewers who don't have satellite or cable - see link below).

Peter Watson: That sounds more like local electrical interference being generated from something operating on a timer switch as it turns on.

Norman Langridge: The COM8 multiplex which was previously on UHF channel 37 has moved to 56 (not 60) to become part of a single frequency network with other COM8 transmitters and release UHF channels 31-37 for use by other transmitters as part of the 700MHz clearance program. If you can't restore the missing channels by manual tuning and you don't have satellite or cable then you may be eligible for a free replacement wideband aerial, which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).

colin1951uk: Yagi aerials have always been grouped, wideband versions only started to be widely used in the UK around 20 years ago when digital terrestrial broadcasting began. Does your aerial have a coloured piece of plastic or any other markings?

Al: Retuning was a bad idea as you've now deleted some of your channels which were already correctly tuned. The COM5 and COM8 multiplexes swapped frequency a few weeks ago at Waltham so COM5 is now on UHF channel 37 and COM8 is on 56 (this website doesn't seem to have been updated with any of the recent frequency changes yet) however there has been no change to PSB3 on UHF channel 58 or COM6 on 57 (there are further frequency changes due in early 2020). As there are no transmitter faults showing, start by checking for any loose or damaged cable or connections behind your TV and then follow along the cable as far back as you can safely access towards the aerial.
