Mike: Please provide a full postcode so that we can see the predicted signal strength at your location. Does your amplifier have a variable gain control? If so, try adjusting it up and down and see if that makes any difference.

Jackie: If you're receiving Devon & Cornwall regional news then your aerial is pointed at the Stockland Hill transmitter rather than Mendip. To change this would require the aerial to be realigned (or replaced if it isn't a wideband type) and pointed at Mendip.

MAHMOUD: At your postcode you should be able to receive BBC Four HD on COM8 from Crystal Palace on UHF channel 56 (754MHz). All UHF channels have a bandwidth of 8MHz throughout Europe.

Steve Tucker: Does your TV have a manual tuning option (check the user guide if you don't know)? On many TVs the manual tuning screen has a signal meter which will show you the signal strength and quality.

Lynda: Resetting/retuning was a bad idea as you've now deleted all of your channels which were already correctly tuned. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted coverage etc.

Alan Bunting: What do you mean by fading? Digital signals don't fade, there is either enough signal to resolve the picture or not enough resulting in the picture breaking up (digital cliff effect). Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Do not attempt to retune.

Roger Garner : Retuning was a bad idea as you've now deleted all of your channels which were correctly tuned to being with. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? There are no reported fault or engineering work for the Sutton Coldfield transmitter.
