Gerald: Yes, the red button text service is closing. The connected red button (available on various newer TVs and set top boxes/PVRs with an internet connection) will continue to be available.

colin mclanders: Have you tried unplugging it from the mains for 5-10 minutes, then plugging it back in and turning it back on? Do any lights or display turn on?

jimmy: An engineering notice has appeared since you posted showing reduced quality, so it looks like something isn't right with the transmitter. The transmitter engineering posts on this website come from a public feed provided by the BBC Engineering website, neither the owner of this website, nor any other contributor has any connection with any broadcaster or transmitter company and no one here has any control over how long it takes for these notices to appear.

jimmy: The notice only mentions BBC because it originates from BBC Engineering, who don't issue notices about any channels or multiplexes other than their own. I'm not aware that any of the other PSB/commercial broadcasters offer a similar service.

J SHORT: Contact the Freeview Advice Line (see link below). They can arrange for a replacement wideband aerial to be fitted if required, free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable.

Anthony Brown: No. The clue is in the name - Freeview only carries free to air channels. BT Sports is available via internet from BT, or on satellite or cable.

carol smith: This website hasn't stopped any channels, it is completely independent and has no connections with any broadcaster. True Entertainment and True Movies have been moved by their owner (Sony) a few months ago resulting in them now having less coverage. The channels have also recently been renamed as Sony Channel and Sony Movies.

Ron Kerry: That sounds like the effects of electrical interference, probably being caused by something in your home (or nearby) operating on a timer if it is happening at the same times every day.

Alan Marsden: Chances are that you either have a fault in your aerial system somewhere (have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV?) or you're suffering from the effects of electrical interference (does the signal breakup co-inside with any sort of electrical device being switched on in your home or somewhere close by?).

Chris: There are no faults showing. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted signal strength etc. Do not attempt to retune.
