Ken Newby: Get an aerial installer out and ask them to put up an aerial pointed at either Bilsdale or Pontop Pike, which are both in the Tyne Tees region and both are predicted as providing a good signal at your postcode.

Kevin : None of those channels are funded by your TV licence, which is a licence to receive TV in your home and is not a subscription to receive any particular channels. The broadcasters of the channels you mentions have for their own commercial reasons all opted to broadcast their channels with reduced coverage compared to other commercials channels on Freeview. All of them are available free to air via satellite on Freesat or Sky, without needing a subscription.

christina miller: If you regularly experience problems during heavy rain it is likely that water is getting into the cable from the aerial. When you say the aerial is in the garden, do you mean it is mounted on the outside of your house or is it attached to a separate mast or type of structure separate from your house?

Mary Lacey & Dawn: There are a few notices showing recent outages for Tunbridge Wells transmitter. There were no advanced warnings of planned engineering work so it seems likely that there has been a transmitter fault of some kind which may not yet be completely resolved. Do not attempt to retune as this will delete all of your correctly tuned channels and leave you with no way of knowing when the transmitter is working again.

Alastair Ferguson : It's no different to the numerous other +1 channels which only broadcast for a couple of hours overnight in order to reserve their channel number in case the broadcaster wants to use it to launch another channel in future with a lower channel number rather than being allocated a number at the end of the entertainment section. In short, it's there to benefit the broadcaster rather than the viewer.

Mike T: There have been now power reductions at any transmitters (other than temporarily due to faults or engineering work) so it appears that an error has crept in to the data for Rowridge VP somewhere.

Michael Sutton: There are no faults showing for Ridge Hill (and if there has been it certainly wouldn't have been happening for several weeks without mention here). If you've tried to troubleshoot the problem yourself without success, it's time to call out an aerial installer to look at it all.

Michael Sutton: Your TV Licence fee has nothing to do with maintaining or repairing your aerial system. It isn't the BBC's fault that your aerial/equipment isn't working.

kab242: Quest +1 has reduced it's broadcast hours and is now only available from 5am until 8am each day, which is why you are seeing that message.
