Martin nr Sudbury: It would appear that the channel numbers for the three commercial multiplexes shown at the top of this page as being "after Wednesday 20th July 2011" are in fact those which will be adopted on 27th June.

Here is the trade newsletter from Digital UK on the retune of 16th November (it details the upcoming changes):

http://www.digitaluk.co.u….pdf

SDN Ch49 to move to Ch58
Arq A Ch54 to move to Ch60
Arq B Ch63 to move to Ch56

(These moves all due to take place on 27th June)

The Arq B on Ch50 will be from Tacolneston. Since the change to Ch63 in November, it has proved very difficult for many to receive. There have even been reports of people within a few miles of the transmitter having issues.

Es: Is it a communal aerial system you are using? Ask your neighbours to see if they have issues.

If it is a communal system, have you noticed any lights being out in communal areas (stairs, landings etc) and which might coincide with the TV signal failing?

Connecting it all up | Installing

kath: No, green, blue and red (probably marked Y, PB/CB and PR/CR, respectively) are a different type of input known as Component Video.

The ones you want, according to the diagram shown in the manual are below the component ones. Below them is a USB socket and below those are the ones you want.

The top one should be yellow, then white and then red. These are the three connectors that you should put the lead from the Ross into.

Robert McPhee: 5 USA is available on Freeview for around 90% of the population. If you supply your post code or tell us which transmitter you receive from, we can say whether you are likely to be able to receive it.

Mike Angle: Google something like Channel 4 HD Wales.

I would imagine that the answer is likely to be no because if they did put C4HD (I would expect C4 will have to pay for it!) on in Wales, then the spare HD slot that is available will then not be UK-wide; i.e. it will exclude Wales.

Michelle Wells: Assuming that you are receiving from the Oxford transmitter (West North West) then you should be aware that the commercial multiplexes (groups of programme channels) are on low power until 18th April. ITV3 is one such channel that is affected.

If you are on Oxford, select ITV3 and go to the signal strength/quality screen. It should say that it is on channel 62. You might see that there is a weak signal shown on the meter.

Michelle Wells: You will probably have to live with it. It may come back at some point, if whatever caused the signal level to drop just enough for your TV not to work goes away.

Mandy: What direction is your aerial pointing? Is it horizontal or vertical?

If it is pointing to either Oxford or Mendip transmitters, then the commercial channels are on low power for a few months.

Pixelated ITV1, C4, C5 could be as a result of it tuning to the wrong transmitter.

DianeS: You can get adaptors like this:

TV PAL Female to Male Right Angle Coaxial Adapter 2 Pcs

Be careful *not* to get f-connector (threaded) ones such as this:

Coax Right Angle Male to Female Adapter: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Mandy: If you manually tune, you will probably need to wipe the memory. This is because if it has already stored a particular multiplex (in the 800s), then it might not do what you want which is to move them into their proper logical channel numbers.

I would check to see that they are all tuned as they should be, and only resort to retuning if there is one that isn't correct.

For each one, go to the channel in question and then go to the signal strength/quality screen and it will tell you the UHF channel that it is tuned to.

You should only need to do the following five (or six for HD) because each UHF channel carries a number of services.

BBC One = Ch53
ITV1 = Ch60
BBC One HD = Ch57
ITV3 = Ch62
Pick TV = Ch59
Yesterday = Ch55

62, 59 and 55 are on low power until 18th April.
