Alison: If you're receiving from Mendip then might you be using a communal aerial? Perhaps it needs adjustmet following the change of channel for BBC services.
In the mean time, Radio 4 is available to listen to over the internet or via FM, if you have an FM radio.

Rosie: It is worth checking that your TV is tuned to the desired transmitter(s).
I'm a little puzzled as you say that one aerial is pointing to Wales and the other is pointing west. But Wales is to your west. Is it in fact the case that the "west" aerial points to ITV West transmitter on the Mendip hills, which is to your south?
Sky is principally a subscription service, although it does offer "Freesat from Sky". However, Freesat is a free-to-air satellite service for which you need a dish and receiver. Thus, for satellite reception one doesn't have to subscribe which requires payment of monthly charges.

Rosie: This is definately 4G interference because the 800MHz trial is in Cradley Heath and Rowley Regis, which is just south of Dudley.

Lesley Green: What UHF channel are they (BBC standard definition TV and radio) coming in on? It should tell you on the signal strength screen.
Mendip's are now on C49, Bristol King's Western's are on C43, Ridge Hill's are on C28 and Wenvoe's are on C41.
Wenvoe is a high-power transmitter near Cardiff and is on roughly the same bearing as Mendip from Winterbourne, so this could be a possibility.

Martin Boulton: I assume that you are receiving from the Blackwell transmitter.
This transmitter has not changed any of its broadcast channels and therefore a retune is not required.
However, because it is a relay of Mendip, it will itself need retuning to the new channel from Mendip. Because there are a lot of relays of Mendip, it will take time for engineers to visit them all. According to Digital UK, Backwell is among a number of relays that are expected to be back on "after 11am".

Vanessa: You should attempt a full retune now. At 02:24 Mendip was probably off-air.
The balconies I can see on Fremantle Road are facing away from Mendip. Bristol Montpelier may be available (at 35 degrees), but this only carried PSB channels (which are BBC TV and radio, ITV, ITV HD, ITV1+1, ITV2, Channel 4, Channel 4 HD, Channel 4+1, More4, E4, Channel 5).

Kate: If the aerial at your new property is pointing to the same transmitter as the aerial at your old property then retuning won't be necessary. If they are different then retuning will be necessary.
Knowledge of your location, preferably in the form of a postcode (or nearby postcode such as that of a shop) should allow assessment of what transmitter(s) you may be using.
The question is, where do the feeds to the bedroom and kitchen sockets come from?
Perhaps they feed directly from loft, and need connecting up there. Or perhaps they feed from a socket in the lounge so as to allow you to feed the output of your Sky box to other sets.
Can you see where the cable from the aerial runs? Does it go straight to the lounge? If so, perhaps you need to take your kitchen/bedroom TVs to that point and tune them in. If they don't work when you get them back to their perminant location then something needs doing to connect the wall sockets (you shouldn't retune once you have them correctly tuned).

angela : In the early hours, the frequency that BBC standard definition services broadcast on from Mendip changed. This is part of the clearance of frequencies for use by 4G mobile services. You will need to carry out a retune.

Louise Irvine: Your receiver will be tuned to one transmitter or the other (at any one time).
You should confirm that it is tuned to the Angus transmitter (near Tealing) and not the Tay Bridge one, or even the Craigkelly one.
The signal strength screen will, hopefully, give you the UHF channel number tuned on each of the following:
PSB1 | BBC One | Angus=C60 | Tay Bridge=C41
PSB2 | STV | Angus=C53 | Tay Bridge=C47
PSB3 | BBC One HD | Angus=C57 | Tay Bridge=C44
Craigkelly's three PSB channels are 27, 24 and 21, respectively.
If you find that your receiver is tuned to Craigkelly or Tay Bridge then these are on lower channels (lower frequencies) than Angus, so you may be able to unplug the aerial for the part of the scan that the unwanted transmitter broadcasts.
The scan runs C21 to C69. It may give channels as it scans, or it may give a percentage. Tay Bridge's highest is C47 and Angus' lowest will be C49 following the retune which is due on 17 April. Plug in at 55%.
