Hi - do you know what time of day or night the 27th March retune should be done ? If you have a recorder set to record a BBC programme, it will be necessary to get the timing right won't it ?

Terry Cook: The deadline that they have set themselves is 6am. I wouldn't be surprised if it's sorted before then.

Have retuned several times this morning but still no BBC Channels. Anyone know when they're due back? Missing Radio 4 :-(
Thanks.

Alison: If you're receiving from Mendip then might you be using a communal aerial? Perhaps it needs adjustmet following the change of channel for BBC services.
In the mean time, Radio 4 is available to listen to over the internet or via FM, if you have an FM radio.

just how many more times are we going to have to update our receivers. I feel sure that there are many out there who, like me, are fed up. As an OAP who is able to update their sets, I feel sorry for those who are not 'tech savvy'. Digital, fetch back analogue at least we had a guaranteed service except when transmitters failed!

angela : In the early hours, the frequency that BBC standard definition services broadcast on from Mendip changed. This is part of the clearance of frequencies for use by 4G mobile services. You will need to carry out a retune.

bruce: That's it for the retunes at Mendip until 2019. Probably.
Mendip did have more than it's fair share of them.

Did I dream it or were we told when Freeview first arrived that it would be a once and for all tune. No mention then that we would have to re-tune for new channels AND mobile phone networks. I have now lost count of the number of times we have had to re-tune and all the hassle of re-programming the PVR each time.
So much for technology. As we sit on the boundary between Mendip and Wenvoe absolutely no chance of an easy automatic tune. Rant over (until the next time).
