btb77: Unless you're needing to split the signal (and therefore need it to be stronger from your aerial to do so), then so long as you have 100% quality it is OK. No improvement can be made unless the current setup causes break-up at certain times.
This is different from analogue where stronger signals generally meant an improved picture.
If it's mounted in the loft, then moving it might bring up the HD mux strength. But then you might introduce problems with others.

The PSB muxes (which includes the HD one) is at 50kW whereas the COMs are 25kW.

Mike Dunning: West Kirby relay transmits only the "Public Service Broadcaster" multiplexes (groups of channels).

You will get BBC channels, ITV1, C4, C5, ITV2, ITV1+1, C4+1, More4, E4 and HD channels.
The three commercial multiplexes (COMs) shown (SDN, ArqA and ArqB) broadcast only from around 80 transmitting stations. For more on this see:

Depending on your location, you might be able to receive from another transmitter which does carry the Coms, such as Moel y Parc. Because it's a different region, you will need two aerials to get your desired regional programming. That will mean that you can watch the COMs from Moel y Park and PSBs from West Kirby.

john: If you can see the transmitter from where your aerial is sited, then that should raise your chances greatly.
HD on Freeview in London is only available from Crystal Palace, so if it's another transmitter that you're using, then you'll have to wait until June to get HD.

michelle prentice: I reckon that there's a fair chance that you should be able to get the other channels.
Have you tried doing an auto-tune?
What is the make and model of your receiver? I will see if I can find the instructions and explain what you should do in order to try and get the other channels.

Richard Leybourne: The reason I mentioned lights being off in the stairway is because communial aerial systems in flats usually require electricity. This will be supplied from that used for communial areas, rather than one flat's supply.
Thus, if all the lights on the stairway went out at the same time that the TV signal failed, it is a possible clue to the reason behind the loss of signal.
Which channels are you getting?

Interestingly, there were no co-channel services from Sutton Coldfield and Moel-y-Parc pre-switchover.
