Dave Lindsay: No retuning. All receiver detect the correct FEC when they tune.

The bold dates are this week.

The "blue book" says that changing the "code rate" from 2/3 to 3/4 will effect one measure of "ruggedness", which is the "Gaussian channel C/N ratio" from 18.9dB to 20.4dB.

It also suggest that the "Guassian channel sensitivity" (ie, the minimum signal at the receiver that can be decoded) will go from -78.3dBm to -76.3dBm.

Here is the table showing the changes (old - green, new - yellow):

SteveG: You don't have a DVB-T2 tuner, so you won't receive any HD channels. You could use the set in some countries to receive MPEG4 encoded services, such as Ireland, but MPEG4 is not allowed in the UK on DVB-T, only DVB-T2.

gin: That does rather suggest you are getting signals from Crystal Palace *OR* you have an very old cable TV system that still has five analogue channels on it - but the Virgin site says you don't have cable.

Can you borrow a Freeview box from a friend and see if that works, it could be your current box is not working.
