My analogue and DAB radio transmitters at PGSTART90
Note: under development. To help you to work out which DAB, FM and AM radio stations you can get, we have just traced your location to all of the transmitters within hundreds of miles. We use groundwave for AM broadcasts. For those you have access to, only the ones sending a strong enough signal are shown. DAB radio stations are grouped before transmission into 'Muxes' (multiplexes) which then broadcast on one frequency. The radio stations you can get are listed below the map.On the following map, yellow house shows where you are and all the possible DAB (white), FM (blue) and AM (green) transmitters: You can single-click on the mast locations to show their calculated coverage area. You can also use the buttons below the map to choose transmitter name with a colour-coded Mux.

More radio stations on digital TV
There are three other popular ways to receive radio broadcasts: using Freeview, using Sky or using Freesat. There are over 30 radio stations on Freeview, almost 60 on Sky and about 40 on Freesat. You will need an aerial and digital TV for Freeview, a satellite dish and decoder box for both Freesat and Sky. If you use a screen with these services you also need a TV Licence, which isn't required at all for DAB or FM. Because analogue signals fade over distance (and over time on the AM band) the shown coverage areas are for optimal reception, including FM stereo. It is often (and sometime occasionally) possible to get more stations than listed on AM and FM, but with poorer quality.Monday, 22 November 2021

Many thanks Chris , although I was in Braintree the other day near the National Grid mast location ,listening to Radio 2 on DAB and this did not happen . Seems only on to be on D1 and SDN.
The mast broadcasts the Essex Mux so also no dropout on that either.

Decent commercial DAB coverage in your area is non-existent!
Infuriatingly where I would look at a official map of commercial transmitter locations has disappeared since last week, it's been merged with a dumbed down site where you stick in your postcode to see what you can get.
Really great - NOT - you already know you can only get the main BBC National multiplex on Block 12B: 225.648 MHz - the nearest transmitter being Dumfries South.
As far as I can make out, the nearest transmitter with any commercial stations is at Caldbeck to your SE which has the D1 (Digital One) multiplex on Block 11D: 222.064MHz and also has the North Cumbria Local Commercial mux on Block 11B: 218.640 MHz and signals may get into parts of Dumfries. (The Penrith transmitter further away carries the same).
There's a transmitter at Workington, almost due S of you, and that has the D1 multiplex on Block 11D but I don't think the signals will get to you, but as most of the path is over water, you may be lucky.
There's another one slightly further south at Whitehaven which also has the Local commercial mux on Block 11B
There's no transmitters near that have the SDL (Sound Digital) mux.
Try a South or SouthEast facing Window sill and try manually tuning those blocks if automatic tuning doesn't find them.

i live in crawley and have a good loft AERIAL for fm. i was led to believe it would be ok for dab as i have good dab on a small portable radio and the checker says excellent for most stations including dab plus.
however my loft aerial doesn't work on my hi fi DAB tuner is this correct just FM

nick : Is the aerial mounted horizontally (with the elements going side to side) or vertically (elements going up and down)? Most FM transmitters broadcast in both polarities whereas DAB is broadcast in vertical only, so if your aerial is mounted horizontally it will be rejecting most of the DAB signal. Also, does your aerial have just one combined aerial socket or does it have separate sockets for FM and DAB aerials?
