Jasper Gee: If not already having done so at changeover, I would carry out a fresh factory re-tune to ensure that everything already stored is completely blanked out of the channel memory, as your type of problem is usually associated with only having carried out an ordinary auto-tune.
You should also ensure that you are actually receiving from Emley Moor, as Belmont is also shown as being possible on your code, this easily checked by carrying out a signal test on BBC1, if Emley its Mux Ch47 whereas Belmont is Mux Ch22.

Stacker/ SCR providing Sky+ over multi user installation.
Hi - I've posted a request for tech help on how to add Sky+ into an existing multile users installation over 40+ homes. However, it's on an archived thread so I'm getting little response (my fault!). I'm therefore cutting & pasting the original query here... all input appreciated!
I'm trying to find the best way to add Sky+ to a communal system, and I hope I can get some definative answers from you guys, as so far I have 2 opposing views!
I live in a development of 43 homes in a hertiage area. Planning restrictions limit us to a single communal system - 1 Sat Dish, 1 omni directional FM, 1 wideband UHF pointed at the Wrekin. These go through a distribution system split across 3 physical locations on the development. There are 5 Inputs (TV&FM combined, 4 sat - HH, HL, VH. VL) which go via Philips -22db taps into two philips SW1 7512E distribution switches and then on via a single cable to individual homes with splitter plates in the properties. Also from the tap the 5 feeds go to the next physical location with an amp & one SW1 7512E, and to the third location with a n amp (philips AMP9853) with a SW17508 switch. We want to add a sky+ service across the whole of the installation and 2 years ago were recomended stacker/destackers at a cost of about £6k - with the whole installation needing to be done at once. Recently, we have been told that SCR's will do the job and can be installed on a one-by-one basis - which is ideal as rather than pay for this out of communal funds, we can charge everyone for the work as and when they have it done, as many people don't want Sky at all! I asked the installers who did the original system (who also recomended stsckers 2 years ago) and while they like th enew SCRs they still think all the kit needs swapping out at one time. Phew!! Any one have real experience with SCRs and how they work in this type of configuration??? I can supply photos of the install if anyone is interested! Thanks folks!

BOB: If the VCR is equiped with an analogue only tuner, or a digital tuner that does not support the 8k mode you will not be able to find/store channels on it. The only way you will be able to record anything will be to add a Freeview box (or satellite or cable box) to supply a suitable input.

Since having to retune our televisions several times over the past few weeks, can you tell me why I receive Meridian weather when I live in Riseley, East Anglia?

It is October 7th 2011.
From late last night I can not receive any ITV channels on digital. At first they were not on analogue, but I can now get some on analogue.
I have done a re-auto set-up.
Has anyone else in London got the same problem??
I have not had any previous problems.

Charlotte Tenneson: Were you watching ITV1+1 or ITV1HD when you saw the Meridian weather? If so it would be because at present there is no Anglia version of these two channels. If you were watching ITV1, however, it is possible that signals from Oxford were received and the channels stored when rescanning, in which case look for Anglia ITV1 in the 800s of the channel list.

Wutty: I haven't used stackers/destackers, but have heard lots of bad stories where they don't work reliably (short cable runs generally OK, long cable runs tricky / impossible). SCR uses much more credible technology and would be my choice (if the option of adding a second cable wasn't available). Disadvantage of SCR is that it needs an SCR friendly Sky box, as well as the extra bits at both ends of the single coax run. Spare ports on the existing multiswitches will rapidly get used up, so you'll probably need new ones to provide the extra feeds before long (which will be at communal expense).
Stacker/destacker would work (well, maybe) for Freesat+ which SCR doesn't.
