2012/13 Freeview changes to clear C61 and C62 for 4G mobile

Here is list of all the Freeview transmitter changes that will happen from the last months of 2012 to 2013 to remove channels allocated to C61 and C62. This is to allow for the nationwide launch of 4G mobile data service.

Declan McGrath: The thing with digital reception is that a lot of different issues manifest themselves as break-up on the picture.

If it is co-channel interference (from another transmitter), then there may be little you can do.

However, due to your close proximity to the transmitter, it would seem reasonable to think that it could be too high a signal level. See here:

Have lost Vodafone signal over past 11 days,have had problems with freeview,got no signal,is there a problem Clearwell area, would the 2 be connected?

Jayne Wilks: It's possible. The page on this site for the Clearwell relay TV transmitter has not recorded it being off since last Wednesday when the retune was required.

But according to 'Sitefinder' Mobile Phone Base Station Database , the station is also home to GSM (2G) base stations for Orange and Vodafone. A power outage to the site would be likely to knock them all out. Or maybe there has been engineering works which has necessitated the transmitters to be switched off.
