My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Hi
I have a loft New Loft aerial with a 6way masthead amp feeding 4 tv's all receiving all freeview and available HD freeview channels,using integrated Tv's with freeview working absolutely fine I have just run another cable to loft aerial output no. 5 and have attached tesco dion freeview box to a hd tv (with no other equipment attached)and I expected to see all freeview channels except HD ones.
But it seems i am missing dave ch19 and challenge ch21 and I cant understand why.
Do I need to upgrade the Cheap Dion Box for a HD freeview box to be able to pick up the extra channels I am

Jackie Kirby: I would take the Dion box to another aerial outlet and tune it in. Having got all the channels tuned in, don't retune (until switchover on 4th and and 18th April).

Completely fed up with the constant loss or degredation of channels over the last year - wife has blown a fuse and demanded we go to Virgincable tv as we can't wait until April to see if Crystal palace change over fixes this issue. Ridiculous !
(Understand inversion, interference, retunes etc - but rarely had issues until last year and when we did it was only with very very high pressure)

Adrian.Adopting Virgin Cable TV does have its advantages,even less interference or none at all on digital cable TV.My advice if you and your wife want to go down that avenue,go for it !

Whoop, whoop. I never had some channels like ITV3, 5*, 5USA, 4film, 4music, Viva, Really. I saw and advert saying a channel had moved. So I found this site, and after a quick retune I have all the channels now. I only bought this TV 4 months ago. I used to think it was because I only have an indoor 99p shop areil, but it's not. I live 1km from the Sheffield yellow zone for signal and I'm on a hill. Thanks for the tips.

patrick bradley: If you can receive them OK just now then yes, as analogue services are never switched off until an hour or so before digital takes over.
