My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

I receive from Cop Hill transmitter. Yesterday it seemed to be off air from 9.0 am to 19.45. It then came. It seems to have gone off again now (16:36) but the check your transmitter page does not show it as off. Can anyone confirm the correct status?

My Aerial man came out and reclipped and checked the splitter in the loft connection. Got everything working again but we are still getting a lot of wireless connection blipping in the evenings only. The aerial man suggested a better signal erecting the aerial up on the roof as opposed to in the loft, and also when I checked signal strengths on the BT Vision box, all channels average 57%.
We have a signal booster on the aerial connection furthest away from the router/aerial but all tv's are blipping......

I have a JVC tv that will only show pixelated picture with built in freeview after recent changeover, so purchased a seperate set-top-box so as to bypass built in after trying all ways to retune, new digibox now only shows 7 channels bbc1/2/3/ccbc/bbc-news/301 plus 1 other. On the same coax lead I then connected a 22" Toshiba tv just purchased which shows 145 channels without issue, no pixelation no interference, no freezing or breakup. Aerial is towards Hannington, all connections checked. Goes without saying I have retuned, set to factory default and retuned again, and manual tuned without improvement. Please suggest fix, anyone???

Clem: The reception of any channels other than from Hanningtons main PSB multiplexes cannot be expected to be reliable until after April 18th when they start operating on full power, and with any variations presently found in reception when using different devices being down purely to the fact that some devices tuners have better sensitivity than others.
Whats said basically applying to reception from the East of the station, such as applies in your case.

marilyn: Its always fatal (as you have found out) to re-tune a TV or a box if any channels "appear" to be lost, as in reality they are "not" and are still stored in the TV / boxes memory, with the reason for not being able to view them simply because that for various reasons they are being received under the minimum strength that the receiver can operate on.
Re-tuning under these reception conditions always results in what's already been stored in the memory is lost and creating the necessity of having to carry out frequent re-scans to recover them, this only being possible when the signal strength rises again.
Crystal Palace is shown as the station that covers your area and where on-going engineering work is always taking place in preparation for switchover in April, this the most likely reason why your signal dropped under the reception threshold.
By the way if one device can pick the channels up but another cannot, then all it means is that the one that can pick them up has a more sensitive tuner or that the signal its receiving is better than the others, this usually always happening in situations where a non-powered splitter has been used.

Hi, I don't appear to be able to receive a signal for ITV3 and the associated channels on the same multiplex. I live in Tonbridge, Kent and I am aware of the switch over happening in this area soon. The problem is on both my BT Vision box and my new Philips LED television. Any suggestions
