My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

I am having the same problem as Lucy and Vick. No synopsis on both of our Freeview boxes, and , and no programmes showing beyond Wednesday 13th November. We live in the North-West. I have done a re-set, but it has not worked :(

Exactly same problem for me, in Leeds.
So it's obviously not our collective aerials...
anyone got any fixes?

I am having the same problem as Lucy, Vick, Beth and Iain. Am in Manchester (M19) using a Thomson dti 6300. Thanks!

The Thomson dti 6300 is apparently a Top Up TV box, and with that service finishing, could it be that the box gets its guide information from Top Up TV's system and not the normal Freeview EPG? I would have a look in the menus to see if you can change any guide settings.

Just read the manual, try going to menu > set-up > box settings and then change the TV Guide type to the Freeview 8 day guide.

Dear Michael, THANK YOU! Our Freeview Recorder isn't a Thompson, but it does/did have TopUp TV. Re-setting the TV guide type to 8 day (Freeview +) worked :).

I have done this and now have an 8 day tv guide showing but very few programmes listed within the days, so I still can't search for programmes to record. Anybody any ideas?

Daz, it took ages for any programmes to show up on ours. We still haven't got them all for the whole 8 days, and we are still missing some for tonight, but I'm assuming that they will come back in time... I hope!!! LOL
