My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Vicky, my parents have that model and it also went off on Xmas Eve - the same problem you had. Now another top up TV box in the house has done exactly the same thing. Constantly asks for a rescan then says no channels available. Anyone any ideas why?

Owen: Although being unaware as to exactly the problem you are referring to its assumed that its connected with EPG problems?, however irrespective of whether or not any have actually been received you should press "menu" then 4 (set up menu) and select "scan for channels" but removing the aerial before doing so.
Prior to carrying the aforementioned out, select "customising your DTR" and on the "TV guide type" set it for 8 day.
By the way, this Ferguson TUTV model appears under a number of guises albeit that they all use the same chassis, and the instructions given are from the Sharp versions manual.

I lost my aerial signal and cant find any programs on tv. I reconnected all the cables and retuned the channels several times. still no effect. what can it be? I live in ca13 pj region - Cumbria, all the cables and the aerial looks all right, I didn't change any settings. yesterday everything was all right, this morning when I turned on tv - all programs gone and the note on the screen says "bad signal or no aerial signal"? I have freeview from aerial straight to tv, no tv boxes.

Owen: Thanks for the update! Pleased to know that the procedure as mentioned resolved the problem.

Mariusz : Its most inadvisable for anyone to carry out a retune on their TV or box unless having received a message to this effect at regular intervals beforehand, as all that's achieved by retuning is to wipe out all of the channels already stored in the tuners memory whereby making it necessary to carry out frequent retunes to restore them.
However, as Caldbeck is the transmitter that covers your area then unless the situation has now been resolved by one of your retunes then you should make an enquiry with a neighbour to find out if they are also being affected, because if not, then your problem is either being caused by a defect in your TV (or box) or alternatively by a fault in your aerial system such as where the coax is terminated into the aerial, that is "if" you have verified that the jumper lead or whatever you are using to feed the aerial into the TV is OK.
