My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Could you please explain why this website indicates that there is no problem with Broneirion transmitter when we have had no signal since about 9.00am this morning ? (Time now 10.50am).

Jenny Milborrow: it could be that the info hasn't updated yet , etc. Have you checked with other people nearby if their getting a signal? If they are, then the problem lies with your system

Thanks MikeB for that. We don't have many people nearby but we do have three TVs on three aerials and they are all out ! We are also fairly accustomed to the signal just disappearing - it is just very frustrating that the website is not updated.

Jenny Milborrow: It doesn't say that there is no problem with the transmitter, but rather says there are no faults reported.

Some Freeview PVRs have a setting to control how long the recording continues to run after the supposed end of the desired programme. Check the settings for your particular box, it will tell you in the User Manual/Guide how to that.

I constantly perform manual reset on my Freeview TV in order to get the regional BBC South East news but the picture is always breaking up. channel 1 defaults to BBC London which we do not want. We live in Tunbridge Wells so right on top of the local transmitter. I key in the correct channel numbers for the transmitter but still no joy

We live in Salterforth,near Barnoldswick and for about seven weeks our televisions show no signal until 7.25am.
I understand our signal comes via the West Marton transmitter, are they doing some work in the early morning, or is there some other problem?
Thank you.

Michael Blakey: Thats tranmitter is know as the Skipton transmitter Skipton (North Yorkshire, England) Freeview Light transmitter | ukfree.tv - 12 years of independent, free digital TV advice , and seems to be fine, with no work on it since May. Which begs the question, why is your TV signal coming on at 7.25am? A postcode would be a great help, but judging by the local pub, your only 7km away with a good signal. Are you actually tuned to that transmitter? And is there any timer setting on your TV, etc? The other thing is, do you have any timer (thermostat, etc) which comes on/off at that time?

Is there any reason for ALL the BBC channels at present being off the air or very badly pixelated on the Gartly Moor transmitter. This often happens and affects either the BBC or ITV channels. A lot of the time the sound is intermittent at the same time. It is almost possible to see adjacent channels through the existing channel, so I suggest or rather guess it is filter problems. This has been happening ever since the digital change over, I live in Oldmeldrum, in Aberdeenshire, and have had to use Gartly ever since it came on line.
