My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

R Madden:
You are presumably talking about the catch-up TV services from Freeview. If that is the case then you need a 'smart' TV connected to the internet via a broadband service that is fast enough to not cause stuttering.

Channel 20 is clear and watchable in the evenings - during the mornings it is unwatchable and blocky, I use a masthead amplifier which was fitted by a professional listed Arial installer.
Is there a simple straightforward cure or workaround?

william davidson: We dont know your location, or signal strength on various muxes. But have you actually checked your signal strength? If your masthead amp is pushing up your signal level to the point its overloading the tuner, then that would cause problems.

Colin Hector: STV2 is broadcast from the Durris transmitter but the signal is directional towards Aberdeen, so it is likely that you are outside of the coverage area for STV2 on Freeview.

Mike Quinlan:
First thing to try is a complete reset by switching of at the mains supply for the box for at least 5 minutes. Then switch the mains on again and wait another 5 minutes to let the box restart properly. Then check it has all the channels wanted and available in your area. Then try setting it up to record and check whether it does.
If that doesn't resolve the problem, it needs to be replaced. It could be that the hard disk is failing. It is also known that the Bush PVRs have a poor reliability record.

We are not getting any reception from ITV channels this has been on going for several days .We are on Rowridge transmission station . Any answers please

Jones: Since Rowridge reports no problems, I'd check your signal strength on all the muxs - good bet that your system is up the spout.
