My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

I can't spot anything that would lead me to believe there's something odd about the tuning.
Try a further retune without the aerial plugged in and then switch the set off for 15 minutes.
When you switch back on check that there are no channels found and that memory has been cleared.
Reconnect the aerial and try a further retune to hopefully restore all channels correctly.
If you are still missing the same channels (ArqA/COM5 multiplex) try a manual retune for UHF C31 at Winter Hill.
If the set is saying no signal, then you need to contact your building management as it would seem that C31 is not being distributed to your wall-plate outlet, unless there is some form of interference.

Have tried rescanning Tv and/or Dvd tuner many times. Each wipes out last settings so tuner starts empty. Most times I only pick up 12 to 30 digital channels - NO BBC channels at all. Picture breaks up into blocky areas or degrades completely.
TV message says_ "poor or weak signal"....
Been like this since last Monday. Up till then it seemed fine.
Have reported fault to managing agent as flat is served by a communual aerial and am awaiting reply.

I guess a different js from our regular poster in these parts. It does sound like a problem with the communal installation. Have you had any high winds which may have damaged or moved the aerial, or power interruptions that could affect the distribution system.?

CATHERINE MURRAY:
Ch.50 is Sony Movies Classic. Sony chose to put a lot of their channels on Local Multiplexes.
For which channels are on which multiplexes, see Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview
Without a full postcode we cannot say whether your transmitter has a Local multiplex and whether you are predicted to receive it. If you don't have a Local station at LCN7 or 8 in your EPG then most likely no.
Local multiplexes are only on a few main transmitters and signals beamed towards large urban centres of population.

CATHERINE MURRAY:
Sony have renamed "Classic" as "Christmas" for the forthcoming festive season, it is otherwise the same channel! See Updates and alerts | Freeview
A Local multiplex is broadcast from Sutton Coldfield but whether you can receive it will depend on location, if you don't have a Local station on LCN7 then you probably can't get it. It is not beamed in the CV31 general direction and reception in that general area may not be that good. A partial postcode doesn't give that information, a full postcode is required.

Hi my Mother lives in Sundon village (central beds)
She uses a digibox to watch freeview. She has lost all of the channels on her TV , is there a problem with the Sandy transmitter that serves her area ?
Thanks
David.

David :
The Sandy Heath transmitter is currently listed for Planned Engineering with "Possible weak signal" which in some locations may appear like no signal if it's an area that does not get good reception. Parts of Sundon are possibly one such area. A full postcode would be needed to look at predicted reception.
Do not retune when you see no signal messages or have pixellated pictures as this can clear correct tuning or if it's caused by interference tune to incorrect transmitters which soon go again, and you have to retune when signals are back to normal, which you may have to try several times.
