ross walker: Its maybe just the way you have put it, but you require one with a common "input" (Sky box end) and either two or three "outputs" to feed each of the TV's, as the one that you say you purchased suggests a combiner rather than a splitter.

Hi there everyone I see a lot of people are having success here so I'll give it a go,I set up a sky link "magic eye" in my own he to a tv upstairs and it works perfect,so my bro was onto me to get his done, exact same situation, sky + box down stairs I ran a coaxial cable up to the room made off the ends connected to rf2 out and connected magic eye to 2nd tv,have led no problem and second new remote is fully operational so u might ask why I'm here, every 2 -3 seconds it makes a popping cracking sound and a snow line flashes across screen like interference ,I made off both ends several times again so connections are sound,to still no avail,so I ran a cable as the crow flies to the tv and still the same result so it's not a damaged cable,I then tried it on a different tv incase it was aerial outlet damaged, same result skipping and snow lime,I then got my own magic eye from my home in case it was faulty again same result,I even tried it out of rf1 and it's the same,so I can only guess its either the signal out of sky+ box or else I don't know, please please help, how do I loose this interference, what of I change the rf outlet number how can this help but on the sky box it seems I can't change number it's shaded and can't seem to select number or scroll up or down

Mick Turner: Taking it on face value, if what you are saying is simply that the magic eye lights up on one box and not the other and yet the RF2 power is turned on on both boxes, then its likely that the voltage regulator that supplies the power to the socket has failed.

This isnt exactly an unknown problem, but what can cause the supply to fail is if anything with a short circuit is connected into RF2 and is left running for a while.

A further point being, that does this also happen with the eye connected straight into the RF2 socket? as if a long co-ax is connected into the RF2 output this can affect some boxes and not others, the ones affected usually being the more recent types.

Hi everyone I wanted to know if anyone could help me Please, Iv just brought a sky wire set, 20M of wire and the connections also I have brought a sky tv splitter 3 way, Now iv taken a small piece of cable and added a connector each end of which one end is conected to the communal ariel and the other in to the IN put on the splitter, I have connected the sky box in the front room to one of the out puts and the 20m cable to another but I can only get one to work at a time. So if I want to watch the sky box in our room we have to disconnect the the cable for the box in the front room. How can I get both to work at the same time?

I hope you can help! We had to re-tune our bedroom tv when we lost terestrial signal and had to switch to Digital/Freeview. It tuned all the freeview channels perfectly. We have a magic eye on the TV and following the re-tune have lost the channel to view sky in the bedroom (was TV channel 6) we have tried access the terestrial TV set up but the TV is not allowing us to access this any more and is only on Digital. Is there anyway of getting the Sky in digital mode?? Thank you so much in advance

Jo: You probably cannot find it because the TV is still set to DVB (digital Freeview)
go into the TV's menu and select "analogue" and Ch6 should still be there.

This said of course assuming that its the same TV? and that when you say you lost the terrestrial signal you are actually meaning that the analogue transmissions ceased.

On "some" TV's the selection between analogue and DVB can be made on the remote control, whereas on others its via the menu.

claire dainty: Have you checked that you can receive a picture from the Sky boxes RF2 on your 2nd TV? if you have then does the magic eye to light when connected to the cable from the Sky box but "not" into the TV? the reason for asking being that magic eyes wont work on some types of TV's.

Also the cable between both devices has to be of a continuous nature without having anything in line with it, as if so it can block the DC component that passes along the cable with the analogue signal.

Another thing that can stop them working is if an exceptionally long cable is used between the box and 2nd TV, because to be honest about it these magic eyes just work and no more at the best of times.

Hello - Hope you can help with this query

I have just installed a sky HD box from previous Sky+ box and works fine downstairs in HD. As I had before I am trying to be able to view the picture upstairs on a second tv which i can as is plugged into RF2, RF power on etc. However the problem is the remote which i previously used only works right up close to the magic eye receiver, any distance and it just wont work. Any help/advice would be great.
