How do I change the RF output channel on a Sky Digibox?
Brian Butterworth published on UK Free TV Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Then press [4] to go to the RF output menu.
You can now change the value so that it does not clash with an analogue TV channel or a Freeview multiplex.
HD and "new EPG" boxes
If you have a HD box, press [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]. Nothing is shown on the TV screen until you press the Select button.Then use the [RIGHT] arrow button on the remote until this screen is shown, and press SELECT to change the values:

i have sky hd and have had a magic eye working on an older type tv for quite a while. I have now bought a hitchi 19" tv and i can only receive pictures with no sound. all other functions tv guide setting etc work but now sound. It is set to analogue channel channel 69 any help would be appreciated

susan lee: Try setting your new Hitachi on channel 68 and see if this corrects the problem, if it doesn't then go into the Sky boxes installers menu, this accessed by pressing "services" then 4-0-1-select or on later models "services" then 0-0-1-select in a smooth continuous fashion, best achieved by "not" looking at the screen whilst doing so, then select No4 RF output, entering 68 and saving changes.
If this still doesn't correct the problem then could you please indicate the model of Hitachi TV involved, although rather than entering Ch68 give it an auto-tune whilst its set on analogue, as this should automatically correct the problem.

Hi, I have Sky hD in my Lounge and a aerial to my bedroom and connected to the magic eye, I now have a new television in my bedroom which is Digital only is it possible to use the magic eye? I cannot seem to get it to work

Robert Aven: If your new TV is definitely digital only then its not possible to use the magic eye system, that said though its not so much the magic eye thats causing the problem but the fact that the signal being sent along the same co-ax the eye is connected to is analogue, so only an analogue TV can pick it up.
Are you absolutely positive that there isnt a DVB/TV button on the remote control? as on the models that have that TV means analogue.
It would be interest to know the model of TV thats involved.

Hi. We have just connected up our magic eye but can only recieve the signal via an analogue connection so the picture is poor.
What can I do to solve this?
It's a Hd tv, cabling is not very long, magic eye is brand new and we have no problem with picture quality directly from the box to tv1

jennybingham@live.co.uk: Sky magic eyes are only intended to work in conjunction with a Sky boxes analogue output, so there isnt anything abnormal with your set up but just that you are trying to make it achieve what its incapable of doing.

jennybingham@live.co.uk: Just as an afterthought, "if" by any chance you have a normal aerial connected into the Sky boxes aerial socket so that a Freeview signal can be fed to a TV in another room as well as the Sky analogue link, you will have to ensure that the RF output channel chosen on the Sky box isnt clashing with one of the Freeview multiplexes being received, as that can spoil the analogue picture from the Sky box.
Should you be doing this, then if you provide your location (pref: post code) I can then inform you regarding what channels "not" to use for the Sky box.

I am an OAP so please be tolerant. I am replacing an analogue TV with a new digital model. Will new TVs after the changeover still accept analogue/RF sky channel which is currently being distributed from a skybox through an aerial booster in the loft to other sets in other rooms?

Russell James: Well nothing should really change except that when anyone wants to view Sky they will have to select "analogue" on the new TV, this usually via a DVB/TV button on the remote control, TV usually meaning analogue.
Before purchasing anything though you will need to ensure that your intended purchase is "not" a digital only device, and if you have any doubts about what you might be looking at and you cant get the information in the shop, most assistants not being technical people, then post the model number in this section and this aspect can be checked on.

i'm using a magic eye in my bedroom (my sky+ hd is in the living room)... i'm able to watch sky in my room via anologue channel 6. i'm just checking that when the digital switchover occurs this isn't going to affect my ability to watch sky through this analogue channel in my bedroom.
