What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fau
How to Reset a Sky Digibox when 'No Signal' appears.
Reset method 1 - Delete and Rescan
- Turn the power off at the mains socket. Either do this by pulling the plug from the socket, or using a power switch if there is one.
- Remove the viewing card from the machine. Using a dry cloth or kitchen roll, clean the gold connector on the reverse of the card. Do not use any cleaning products.
- Check cables and connectors are in good order.
- Wait for at least 30 seconds.
- With the card still out of the machine, plug the Digibox back into the mains.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.
Reset Method 2 - Reset the LNB
If the above method does not work, the LNB may have a fault.- Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
On Sky HD, press the [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Press the buttons in the sequence above exactly - do not atttempt to use [UP] or [DOWN]. Note that when you press the second 0 and 1 nothing happens on the screen until you press the final [SELECT]. This is a "hidden menu". - Then press [1] to go to the RF output menu.
- Press [DOWN] three times to highlight the line 22Khz Command and then press [RIGHT] to change the value to [OFF].
- Press [DOWN] and [SELECT] to select Save New Settings.
- Press [SKY].
- Again press [SERVICES], [4], [0], [1], [SELECT]; then [1] again for the LNB Menu. (SERVICES 0 0 1 SELECT for Sky HD).
- Now press the [RED] button (reset all settings), then [DOWN] until you can select Save New Settings again.
- Press [SKY].
Reset Method 3 - Upgrade the system software
If there are still problems:- Turn the Digibox off at the mains again and remove the viewing card.
- Whilst holding down the BACKUP key on the Digibox - NOT ON THE REMOTE - turn the mains power on.
- Keep hold of BACKUP until the screen displays a "UPGRADING SYSTEM SOFTWARE" message ââ¬â this will be white text on a black screen. On some boxes this can appear as a half screen.
- Wait 10 to 20 minutes for the software to download and install. The box will restart when the process is complete.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.

Hi Fati
If you had a sky plus box the older white one when you switched it on it sent a signal through the scart lead to switch the tv to thebcorrect av channel
The sky hd boxes dont seem to do this and with your tv saying no video it sounds to me like you need to select the hdmi input on your tv

I done everything in order all the steps etc but I am still having the same problem. My sky box keep saying; FOR YOUR INFORMATION 29 - No satellite Signal is being received. Please unplug your box from the mains, then plug it back in and wait 5 minutes before trying again. If thefaults persists, contact customer services. But I went onto the sky website and they has similar steps which don't help either. What do I do next?

i need help i recently bought an old skky box from a friend so i could get free rang and recieved my card but have it all set up now and no luck. i can only recieve signal strength no signal quality and lock indicator is saying not locked. Both my network id and transport stream are displaying 0000.
I have done all the test as said on the post and have been and brought brand new cables but still no luck. Have also moved the areal and nothing.
Any ideas? Many thanks in advance

Stevier:
If you are connecting a sky box to an areal (aerial) then that is your problem, you should be connecting to a dish.
If you are connecting to a dish then you should get a professional to align it as even 2mm out will give you NO SIGNAL.
If the reception is perfect then you have a duff box.

Carol: Although its possible to get an error 29 warning when a box has developed a fault, especially if its of the older variety!, but it can also be caused by the dish having moved out of alignment.
Another thing that can cause this warning to appear, which by the way just means no signal, is if the connector on the end of the coax cable that screws onto the dishes LNB has got waterlogged, and so if this is easily accessible then it wouldn't do any harm to unscrew it and check it out.
That said, should you be on friendly terms with any of your neighbours who are also Sky (or Freesat) users then if at all possible it would save a you a lot of bother if you can manage to check your box out on their dish system, or alternatively theirs on yours, as this will pinpoint the source of the problem.

Thank you so much for this website!! I was on the phone to sky for an hour trying to get signal in my sky box and all they offered to do was send an engineer out for £65!! Method 1 did the the trick the first time and was so quick and simple to do. Thank you so much!!
ps given my chance again i would never ever go with sky as a provider and there quick enough to take your money and and update your package without telling you before youve already paid. I rang sky at 2pm and they said that a manager would get back to be within the hour. I'm still waiting at its 5.15.
But anyway thank for sorting out thier mess
