From Wikipedia: The channel had been available from launch on UPC Ireland, but was pulled on 22 March 2006. The channel had already been and remains available to Irish viewers on free-to-air satellite for some time, however it has not been listed in the Sky electronic programme guide since its removal on 25 January 2006. ITV3 took its channel number and bandwidth meaning all platforms could be launched simultaneously. - en.wikipedia.org read more about ITV3 on wikipedia (summary by Clipped).

Kirsten Russell: Try manual tuning:
- If your aerial is pointing northwards to Bilsdale then you need to tune to UHF channel 43.
- If your aerial is pointing southwards to Emley Moor then you need to tune to UHF channel 51.

Dave Lindsay. Many thanks for the advice which I have followed. Unfortunately, there's been no replies or suggestions.
One thing I have done is look at the Coverage Checker on Freeview.co.uk for my postcode and house number. Amazingly, this shows that I am NOT able to receive the ITV3 Mux. This despite me clearly being able to do so with a very strong and good quality signal!!
Could this have a bearing on the programme listings not being available for this Mux on my EPG?
If so, how should I go about getting Freeview to correct their coverage information?
As always many thanks for any help.

John Eaton: Inconvenient as this might be, but why dont you try a test by carrying out a factory reset on the recorder to return it to its default setting and then follow this by manually tuning in Ch29 and nothing else, because all programmes on that particular mux should be indicated on the EPG, if they arent then thats inclined to indicate that the problem is with the DVD so maybe you could indicate the model of the device in question.
Of course if the EPG has returned then either use the "add channels" facility (should it have it!) to recover the missing muxes or manually tune them in, these being: 61 - 54 - 56 - 57, (HD is 58) or just reset the recorder again and follow this by another auto-tune.

John Eaton: As ITV3 is on the lowest channel, it gets found first. This is perhaps unlikely, but may be worth a go if all else fails: tune it in after the others.
Either:
- Manually tune (if it has manual tuning) in the four (or five for HD) other channels, as given by jb38. Then tune in C29.
- Run the automatic tuning scan with the aerial unplugged up to 60%. This should give you all except COM4 (ITV3). Then either manually add C29 or select the function to add new services, if it exists.

Coverage predictors exist because of the demand for them and not because they can be in any way absolute.
As far as reception goes, a postcode unit is a massive area. There are many across the country where what can't and can't be received varies greatly. There are many other factors that come into play like whether there are obstructions (trees, buildings) and aerial properties, none of which could ever be taken into account by any predictor. Also, Royal Mail does not deliver RF signals!

Debbie: There have been several reports of people all with the same issue with the same channel from the Pontop Pike transmitter:

Most say they have Panasonic receivers, although one has a Sony. Some have other receivers that work fine.

I have a Panasonic Viera TX-P42X50B Plasma TV, after a channels update several days ago, I am now without ITV3, 5+1,5*,5 USA, and Quest. My postal region is NE6(Newcastle area, like Debbie). Have re-scanned several times to no avail. Is this likely to be a transmitter problem, or may Panasonic need to issue a software update via their website to correct this issue.

meaty57: This would appear to be a transmitter issue as it only affects people using Pontop Pike. At the end of the change, some change must have happened to cause this and the common factor is the transmitter.

Thanks for the swift reply Dave. In your considered opinion how long do these transmitter issues generally take to resolve themselves.
