From Wikipedia: The channel had been available from launch on UPC Ireland, but was pulled on 22 March 2006. The channel had already been and remains available to Irish viewers on free-to-air satellite for some time, however it has not been listed in the Sky electronic programme guide since its removal on 25 January 2006. ITV3 took its channel number and bandwidth meaning all platforms could be launched simultaneously. - en.wikipedia.org read more about ITV3 on wikipedia (summary by Clipped).

Hi. I have lost ITV3 in the last couple of days. Initially it said signal strength was poor and then, after I did an automatic rescan of channels it disappeared altogether. I have looked for channel 10 on the manual retune but it isn't there. My postcode is CB3 7PF.
Can you help please?

My postcode is PO21 2FZ and I am another one (apparently amongst many) who has lost his ITV3 reception (via a dish in a block of flats). My TV used to receive it, then it only showed the channel but "no signal", and now it doesn't even show the channel in the guide.
Is there any way of getting it back?

Polly: BN7 is not really a precise enough location to determine the station that you are receiving Freeview from as BN7 could either be Heathfield or Crystal Palace, your "on the door step" Lewes relay transmitter not transmitting commercial channels.
Therefore for a more detailed reply you will have to provide a post code or one from somewhere nearby, e.g: a shop / Post office.
It would also be prudent to make a few local enquiries to find out if others are similarly affected.

jb38: Good morning. I, too, have lost ITV3 following a retune. I am on the Crystal Palace transmitter (Postcode CM3)and it has been suggested that the warm weather may be affecting transmission of signal. I have an outside aerial on a pole which has been working perfectly up to the retune.
Do I wait until the weather changes (please, no - let the summer continue) or go for the manual tune (which I am a bit nervous of as I am not a techie)? Any help would be appreciated

Mary Ann: Well on having a check at the signal path from Crystal Palace (@ 33.5 miles) indicates that the signal you receive is via an element of diffraction (signal bending) due to an obstruction at approximately 6 miles prior to your location albeit that the obstruction is not of a severe nature, that said ground conditions from 12 miles out can also have an effect on reception as the signal sweeps across at a low angle, although other factors could also apply such as trees or man made structures as terrain indicators do not take such as those into account, both referred to always making the situation worse.
However your problem might just be caused by the signal level received being under that required to resolve a picture, and the only way this will be revealed is by going into your TV or boxes set up menu / tuning / "manual tune" and entering C25 but NOT followed by pressing search or scan, because as soon as the channel number is entered the strength / quality its being received at will (or should on most devices) be indicated, once you have noted the levels being indicated change C25 (ITV3 / Drama etc) to C26 (ITV1) and make a note of its levels and give an update on results.
It would though also be prudent to try and make a check with a neighbour to find out if they are also being similarly being affected, although its not necessarily the case that they would be if your problem is simply being one of a deficiency in the level received as this can be receiver dependant.
If you have any problem with the manual tune test procedure then please indicate the model number of the TV or box being used, the other question being, do you have a booster on your aerial system?

JB38: Thank you very much for your prompt, comprehensive reply.
I've looked at C25 and C26 but I cannot find the signal strength shown anywhere - it just states the programmes covered.
My TV is a Sony Bravia KDL which includes the Freeview package. I don't think I have a booster on my aerial.
