PE15 area, Sandy Heath transmitter, Humax PVR. Retuned yesterday and again today but Film 4 and Yesterday channels missing. After reading some pages on this site I tried a manual retune on ch48 @ 63000 - no channels found, signal strength 30-40% and quality 0-10%. Any suggestions please?

Hi, I bought a Humax aura and can not longer get RTE1. I get RTE2 OK and both channels via TV on free view. I'm using Divis transmitter and these 2 Irish channels are available in N Ireland where I live. Any ideas as Humax can't help. I've retuned & tried an attenuator with no luck. Thanks.

Fiona Beattie: RTE1 and RTE2 are both broadcast on the same multiplex (NI mux) at low power from Divis and at higher power from the nearby Black Mountain transmitter. Have you checked whether RTE1 is listed in the 800 channel range on the Humax anywhere? It may be worth doing a factory reset on the Humax to clear the channel list completely (make a note of any planned recordings first) then let the box do an initial scan.
If that doesn't work, please provide a full postcode so that we can see the predicted signal strength at your location.

StevensOnln1: Thanks for your reply. Yes I did a reset no joy. When I do auto channel search it shows RTE 1&2 as found but no picture or sound on 1. 2 is fine. My postcode is BT20 4SA. I also tried manual searches but don't know what one to tryi

Fiona Beattie:
There are 8 mobile phone masts around you. Some may have been upgraded to use the 700MHz band and this may be causing you interference but especially to UHF channel C48 (the one for the NI mux).
You should have received a postcard from https://restoretv.uk/
I would contact them, ring free on 0808-1313-800 or via email on the Contact Us page and tell them you are having problems with reception sometime since they sent postcards. Can you please have a free Filter.

Fiona Beattie: This doesn't sound like a reception issue. It sounds like you have the multiplex and that there is a problem resolving the one service, RT One on the Humax. At this stage it's a case of trying things to see whether it rectifies the issue.
I wonder if it could be an issue with the multiplex. As discussed elsewhere, a missing or out-of-place character in the stream can cause a problem for some receivers and not others. It would be interesting to know whether other Humax Aura users have the same issue with the NIMM.
What I would do is carry out a retune with the aerial unplugged with the objective being to clear the tuning memory. Once completed no channels should be tuned. Then, do a manual tune on UHF channel 48, the objective to tune in the NIMM only and see if it works. There are four services on the multiplex:
LCN 53: TG4
LCN 54: RT One
LCN 55: RT Two
LCN 729: RT RnaG
"LCN" stands for "logical channel number", the number the service appears on the EPG and the number used from the remote control to watch it.
With the one multiplex tuned in you "should" have the four services listed above. If you can watch and hear RT One then go ahead and tune in the other multiplexes which are UHF channels 27 (BBC standard definition TV and radio), 21 (UTV, C4, C5 etc), 24 (HD channels), 23, 26 and 30.
I said it's a "try and see" sort of thing, or "poke and hope" as my dad would say.
If it works OK with just the NIMM tuned then see if adding the others breaks it or it continues to work.
Whatever your findings, share them here as this may help others with the same issue.
