Hi,Please advise on how to move recordings on Humax 3900T Hard Drive to VCR? Yours Truly.

Steven Walker: Connect the VCR to the 3900T using a SCART cable - to the VCR port.
Press RECORD on the VCR and then watch the programme on the 3900T.

Hello there,
Just move back to our old house in Watford after living overseas and discovered our aerial doesn't work any more. Can anyone tell me if we need a new one, or can we just redirect it to the right transmitter. It seems there is a good transmitter in Hemel Hempstead, so should be no problem....???

AndyR: Are you sure that its your aerial at fault and not the TV / box that you are receiving on? as technical changes to the transmission modes being used have taken place in recent times when stations switched over to high powered operation, this having the effect of making some older receiving equipment obsolete.
As far as your reception possibilities are concerned, Hemel Hempstead (@ 6 miles / 342 degrees) and Sandy Heath (@ 34miles / 137 degrees) are both indicated as providing good reception in your p/code area.

Thanks jb38, it was a brand new Smart TV we tried, and I went on the roof to realign the aerial to no avail, so we guess we need a new aerial or else there is a fault in the cabling.

AndyR: Yes, if you have tried that then it suggests that there could be a problem with the cable, "but" though on re-checking I see that I mistakenly gave you the bearing for Crystal Palace @ 20 miles rather than Sandy and which I apologise for doing, the correct bearing for Sandy being 9 degrees.
By the way, Crystal Palace even although CP is considerably closer than Sandy its not indicated as providing a signal of the same level as Sandy for reception of its commercial muxes.
If your aerial had been installed facing Hemel Hempstead then it would have been mounted vertically, whereas the other main stations are all horizontal.

Why can't I rte on my hd h.264 mpeg4 box I live in northan Ireland and my is tv hd ready and has freeview ready can I use my satellite dish please help don't know what we're doing wrong

angela otoole: You can only use a satellite dish that is set-up to receive Saorsat, with an appropriate receiver.
Knowledge of your location may allow assessment of your options with regards reception of RT via a terrestrial transmitter. In some areas a separate aerial will be required.

Andy Pryce: You need a Cat 5 cable aka ethernet cable. There's loads of sites selling them or a computer outlet will do.
Ethernet is a network standard that works over cable lengths of up to 100m. Quality isn't lost; it doesn't work like that.
Powerline adapters...wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot bargepole. As well as the electromagnetic polution, it would seem a total waste of electricity when the alternative is so simple:
