How do I change the RF output channel on a Sky Digibox?
Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Then press [4] to go to the RF output menu.
You can now change the value so that it does not clash with an analogue TV channel or a Freeview multiplex.
HD and "new EPG" boxes
If you have a HD box, press [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]. Nothing is shown on the TV screen until you press the Select button. Then use the [RIGHT] arrow button on the remote until this screen is shown, and press SELECT to change the values:

teejay: What is the model number of your new Sanyo TV, because if you always pick up the Freeview channels then the set isnt scanning in analogue, dont you see a TV/DVB button on your remote control? as analogue / digital operation is usually selected by pressing that button.
Anyway let me have the model number of the set.

I have just bought my freeview boxes and am having similar problems to all the above. I have a magic eye in one room for sky and upstairs it is connected to a room via cabling (but i havent got a clue how!!). Since i have connected up today i can only get analogue tv by taking the ariel in the relevant room, out of the freeview box and back into the tv. Surely there is a way to switch back and forth between sky and freeview without unplugging the ariel??? I have tried retuning but no sky channel was found. Sky can not help and uk digitial helpline simply told me to buy an ariel splitter?! I have read all your info but i am more confused about all this RF cabling. I dont want to change anything about my setup at the main sky box as there are too many leads and i would not know where to start!!! Also the tv upstairs is very old and i dont think has an analogue/digital switch button. Please help (if this makes any sense!!!) I live in HA8 8 thank you

deborah: The very fact of the TV being old virtually guarantees that is has analogue,
if I am assuming correctly you have an analogue link from the Sky box going into a Freeview box then into the TV? should this be correct then your problem is most likely caused by your Sky boxes RF2 being tuned to the same frequency as a high powered Freeview channel and which is blotting the analogue channel out.
What you require to do to stop this happening is change the RF output channel being used on the Sky box, this done in the engineers set up menu accessed by pressing Services then 4, then in one smooth operation "0-0-1-select" best achieved by NOT looking at the screen whilst doing so, then change the RF channel number seen in the box and save the changes.
If you had provided your post code I could have advised the channels to avoid, as you might select another clash, but in the mean time just try selecting one about five away from whatever number you see, if it doesn't work try another, but remember every time you change it you have to carry out a re-scan on the TV so that it can pick it up.
By the way the analogue digital selection on most TV's being by a button on the remote marked TV/DVB or similar.

deborah: Just a point of clarification on the services then 4 then the 0-0-1-select procedure, although it will be rather obvious when you have carried this out, but you scroll down to another No4 on the choice box that comes on "after" carrying out the above mentioned procedure, the No4 box referred to called RF outlets.

deborah: Meant also to say that the part of the post code you provided is not recognised by the reception predictor, if you can give the full code of a nearby shop that would suffice.

JB38, Thank you for your response. yes i did mean that it changes when i'm in the same room. the strangest thing has happened though, without anything being done to it, it has now restarted working again. so it could just have been technology being temperamental again.

Lee: Could be! although its a pity in a way that the situation corrected itself before you had a chance of trying the eye straight into the Sky boxes RF2, as if the eye you were using, or its replacement, didn't work by doing that then the problem is with the Sky box, whereas if they did then its suggestive of a cabling / coax plug connection fault.
Still, should the problem return you will know the procedure to use.

jb38: my sky box is in the lounge and the freeview boxes are in kitchen and bedroom and linked direct to the tvs there. the sky box links to kitchen via a magic eye and is also wired up to the bedroom (but dont ask me how!). there are no sky boxes linked to the freeview machines directly. there is also no tv/dvb button for my bedroom upstairs, only in the kitchen. postcode is ha88tb. i am so confused!! would an aeriel splitter help to allow me to put tv ariel into tv and also freeview boxes?? thank you
