By providing a full postcode (such as W1A 1AA), national grid reference (for example SE123456) or latitude, longitude pair (like 54, -0.5) this page will provide a map, terrain plot and detailed information of the location showing the UK and RoI television transmitters that it is possible you receive Freeview, Freeview HD, Youview, BT TV and Saorview from.
(Don't know your postcode? Find it at Post Office Postcode finder).
UK Free TV uniquely shows you transmitter coverage maps, aerial to transmitter terrain plots, the closest 10 mobile phone masts (for possible 5G-at-800 interference) as well as tabulated information (sorted by direction, by received signal strength, by frequency, by service names or by transmitter name).

Roger: Sandy Heath is having engineering work, and liable to interruption, but not for very long, and there is no indication that power has been reduced.
Looking at the terrain plot, there is something interrupting the line of sight about 7-8km from you, so if there was a lower power level, that might be a contributing factor. The other thing to consider is your own system - check your cables to see if one is loose, etc - this can cause lower powered signals to disappear.
If there was a problem, then Dallington Park transmitter is only one km from you, and is a light transmitter.

R.Barrett: Sandy Heath seems fine, despite the engineering work, and your 28km away with a clear line of sight, so I suggest you check your signal level. If its too high, then strong signals (like BBC ones) will lead to break up.

Hi,
All the missing numbers (8 etc) have now got channels allocated... they've all shifted up the page?
Is this just me or are they changing?

Thanks for the response. Much of what is suggested relates to having a Digibox. I do NOT.
I use a satellite dish and a satellite receiver on frequency 28.2. I get a perfect picture on all channels including Channel 5. However at about 7 pm the transmission for Channel 5 ceases and the TV screen goes blank. This also applies to 5* & 5 USA. All other channels continue to transmit perfect pictures.
Does this help identify the problem?

So you either have a Sky box or a Freesat box? To my certain knowledge there is no interruption of transmissions on a regular basis of the programmes giving you problems. Have you checked with your neighbours who use the Sky services whether they have the same sort of problems? If they don't then it is likely to be some problem with your equipment.
Incidentally, the 28.2 figure is not a frequency but an orbital position, that is to say the place in space where the Astra satellites are positioned and that is directly above an African state on the Equator.

Returned from holiday and all BBC channels are weak and less than 10%. Re-tuned several times
but no success. ITV Channels are perfect.
