So far the programme line up looks decidedly tepid. Unless LondonLive can find one flagship programme that is a 'must-see' for their audience I don't see how they will sustain interest. The first couple of weeks will be a honeymoon period where people are interested in it for the sake of novelty. Beyond that, a diet of cheapo dramas and recycled sitcoms will not satisfy a discerning audience... there's already plenty of 'wallpaper TV' out there. The concept is flawed anyway because there is no such thing as a Londonwide audience. Somebody in Chiswick does not give a hoot what is happening in Hackney. A Lambeth resident has little in common with a Chelsea resident. LondonLive will be on life support in no time.

Except, perhaps, that they read same Metro and Evening Standard?

I think the problem with local tv in general is that there is no national coordination to enable local coverage around the nation to start at around the same time so that there is not an enormous time gap between the starting dates of all the local stations to cover the main population areas of the U.K. London already has London Live whereas the Solent area now has to wait for a third deferment for That's Solent now due to start in December 2014. Where is the coordination?

Apparently on eight occasions viewership has been so low it couldn't be measured. By 2014 standards it looks cheap... even an investment in a potplant for their over-minimalist studio setting could help. Far too much of the scheduling is aimed at an audience that is more likely to frequent a skateboard park than watch television of an evening. Their presenters are not short of enthusiasm, guffawing at their own bloopers like maniacs. Some intensive market research may lead them to change direction but at the moment LondonLive's vision still seems to be dictated by the arrogant views of a boss who took his marching orders within a week of the launch.

d gentles: Do an automatic retune or manually scan UHF channel 29.

This service is only available from Crystal Palace transmitter and is also not available to all viewers of that transmitter owing to its lower power and the way in which it doesn't broadcast uniformly in all directions. Knowledge of your location would allow some idea of the likelihood that you may be able to pick it up.

Has anyone else lost the signal for London Live on Freeview. I have been unable to pick it up since yesterday, though every other channel is OK.

In the past few weeks my reception of London Live has gone to pieces - I've rescanned my channels and my LG TV has moved it to channel 802. The other channels on that multiplex are also unwatchable. Has something changed recently?

Bobby: London Live transmits lower power than the other channels, and with a restricted radiation pattern (not the same in all directions). Without knowledge of your location it isn't possible to gauge whether this could be the cause.

Rescanning is a waste of time under such circumstances and can only ever result in a negative or neutral outcome, never a positive. This is because the TV will give you the best picture for the signal you are providing it with.
