Hayley LR: You most likely have a Group A aerial which is not designed to receive the higher frequencies that COM7 & COM8 are now broadcast on from Crystal Palace. If you don't have satellite or cable you may be eligible to have a replacement wideband aerial fitted free of charge, which can be arranged by contacting the Freeview Advice Line (see link below).

StevensOnln1: Thanks so much for your answer. Unfortunately, the building I live in is owned by a freakishly fussy landlord, and we have a communal aerial. I might have to look into other options.
Thanks again for your help :)

Hayley LR:
You need to demand that the building owner, or whoever is responsible for maintenance, has the aerial system adjusted to suit the new channels being used by the transmitter.
If you investigate other options, remeber that indoor aerials very rarely give satisfactory results unless you are very close to the transmitter, generally within 1 km! Also remember that as you do not own the building, you cannot have your own aerial fitted on the building. That would need the owner's permission and if there is already two aerials (or an aerial and a dish) then planning permission will be needed.

I don't seem to be able to receive Freesport on freeview in the Nottingham area. Why is this, when will I be able to receive the channel?

Stephen Kirk: Freesports is carried on the COM8 multiplex which is broadcast from the Waltham transmitter but not the Nottingham transmitter. There are no plans for this to change. If you provide a full postcode we'll be able to see whether you may be able to receive COM8 from Waltham by repositioning your aerial.

My television in the lounge receives channel 95 but the one upstairs will not . Despite responding to channel update prompts I find several channels in the 89=99 range refuse to respond and all I get is an "Invalid Channel" message, can anyone help? Thanks in advance,

Llanelli
My transmitter is Kilvey Hill in Swansea, I live in Llanelli SA14 8UQ. My query is based on local coverage, I am told that all the transmitters near me do not cater for Channel 95, which the particular Channel I want to receive. You maybe aware that the BBC lost the contract fot PRO 14 Rugby which has gone to Premier Sports I have now subscribed to the Channel, however they have a free channel running alongside, which I cannot get I wonder if it would be possible to include other transmitters, because this channel covers PRO 14 RUGBYwhich is a major sport in Wales and our areas have poor coverage

Ray Cooke: For Freesports to increase their Freeview coverage the broadcaster would incur a large increase in costs, which may not be financially viable. So far only one channel (Talking Pictures) has moved from a multiplex with 70% coverage of UK households (from 30 transmitters) to one with 90% coverage (from 80+ transmitters).
