My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Programmes on ch 27 keep breaking up every so often. Other channels not affected. I have checked and signal strength remains at 74% but quality drops to zero at times. I live in Cottenham post code CB24 8TL

Normally you should have any problem with reception of any of the multiplexes from Sandy Heath, or the Local one from Madingley at your location (should be within the beamwidth of your aerial).
See further comments below.
Gavin:
There's been a lot of "Tropospheric Ducting" around causing interference, see Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | RTIS for a simplistic explanation.
It's likely to continue for a day or two more.

Have a good aerial and the latest BT box no difference ,over past month most days loose signal especially when sunny. I am in Donnington, Telford. receiving from the Wrekin transmitter
Since the change of Pick to 34 and the addition of 11 Sky arts, all the programmes on Multiplexer Com5 are either missing or very, very poor quality ..
I have re-tuned but it made no difference.
I understand that many other people in the area have similar problems

Chris:
We need a full postcode to look at your predicted reception. You may not live in an ideal location, the fact that you have a BT box has no bearing on the matter. As per the post prior to yours there's been a lot of "Tropospheric Ducting" around causing interference, see Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | RTIS for a simplistic explanation.
It's may continue on and off for a day or two more.
Knowing your predicted reception, we might be able to suggest something to help.

It's most likely to be the "Tropospheric Ducting" around causing interference as already mentioned, see Effect of tropospheric ducting on Freeview | RTIS for a simplistic explanation.
It may continue on and off for a day or two more.
You're advised not to retune whilst you've lost signals or they are severely pixellated as it may clear the correct tuning and you'd have to repeat a retune when conditions stabilise.
