Lynne Talbott: The signal on C24 is Mux D3+4 from Sandy Heath (Cambs & Beds) and the one on C29 is MuxD from Oxford. It is highly unlikely that any signals from Caldbeck would ever be received in your area, even with an inversion. It would appear that your receiver is the type that stores the channels on the first frequency it finds, then puts regional variations, and possibly duplicates, in the 800s of the channel list. You might find BBC Oxford is in the 800s, as could ITV1 (Meridian) also be. If you wish to store all the channels from the Oxford transmitter in the normal positions in the channel list it will be necessary to do a manual tune for each of the Oxford frequencies after first clearing the channel list by doing a factory reset or a complete scan with no aerial connected. As the Oxford version of Mux2 on C68 is giving reception problems, you might prefer to enter C24 from Sandy Heath at the present time to get a working set of channels. After DSO stage2 at Oxford you should be able to receive a working Mux D3+4 for Bucks & Oxon. Possible reasons for C68 not working currently are (1) interference from a VCR or Sky box with the RF modulator set to C68, or (2) if you have a booster on the aerial the signal on C68 is now too strong - I noticed you said your signal strength is 100% which would be far too high on many boxes. The important factor for digital TV is good signal quality, which if this is 100% is excellent.

anthony: What is your postcode?- so a check can be made on which transmitters you are likely to be able to receive signals from. At present only Kimberley is transmitting HD in Nottinghamshire. Belmont begins on 17th August 2011, Waltham begins on 31st August 2011 and Emley Moor begins on 21st September 2011.

David: If you do a manual tune on C22 after storing the Emley Moor channels in preferred locations it should put Belmont in the 800s and stop messages for "new channels found" as you will already have them.

Richrd: The only transmitter in the Tyne-Tees region with a Freeview HD service is Pontop Pike. The frequency is C63 (810.0MHz) and requires a group C/D receiving aerial set for horizontal polarisation. The Digital UK postcode checker predicts good reception for this mux at your location. If you are using the Fenham transmitter the Freeview HD service will be added at DSO stage 2 in the latter part of 2012, precise dates are yet to be announced by Ofcom.

David Rose: The Digital UK postcode checker predicts that you can currently receive C44 (MuxBBCA) from Sudbury and C48, C52 and C42 (the 3 PSB muxes) from the Clacton relay transmitter. If you have managed to store channels on C41, C44 and C47 from Sudbury the receiver will look at the Clacton channels but then ignore them as duplicates of the Sudbury channels already found. Regarding C49 (Mux SDN), from Sudbury, either the signal is slightly too weak or the quality is poor due to interference. You could try doing a manual tune on this frequency to see better what the problem is and possibly encourage the receiver to store the channels. It is worth mentioning that you will need a group E (preferably) or a wideband aerial to receive the COM muxes which switch to high power on 27th June 2012 and also use different frequencies from that date. You are then expected to be able to receive them with variable reception.

Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) transmitter
Monday 8 August 2011 12:25PM

Mick C: It is likely that you are using the Belmont transmitter for your TV reception. If the aerial points East this will be the case. To receive Look North from Leeds you would need to use Emley Moor, the most likely alternative in S21. Reception is very patchy from a number of transmitters in that general area, with more distant transmitters often providing the best signals.

Roy Barrett: Currently only MuxBBCA is transmitted at high power. On 17th August 2011 MuxD3+4, MuxBBCB (HD) and Mux SDN will commece high power working for DSO step 2. Then finally on 23rd November 2011 Mux ArqA and Mux ArqB will adopt high power working after the frequencies are cleared at Tacolneston.

TRacy: Yes, both Sudbury and Tacolneston will use frequencies that are covered by a group E receiving aerial.

Bob Hughes: It doesn't matter when you do a retune; after the frequencies used by the multiplexes have been changed you will simply have to retune when it is convenient before you are able to view the channels carried on them.
