ROY WILLIW: Starting on 9th Nov on C49- for MuxBBCA, and 23rd November on C46 for MuxD3+4 Anglia. The current analogue only relay at Kings Lynn will convert to digital as part of the Tacolneston Transmitter group switchover.

Briantist: It would appear that some, but not all affected relays of Emley Moor have aleady had frequency allocations adjusted to take account of the inclusion of C61/C62 in the digital dividend for 4G. I note from Digital UK info that Idle now uses C39 for ArqB, Headingley has C49 for BBCA, and Wincobank and Beecroft Hill both use C50 for BBCB. With regard to Waltham it is odd that Birchover and Kings Lynn have been allocated C49 which would have been the expected sustitute for C61. Likewise Skipton (which relays Keighley) is using C49 which I would have expected to be used at Keighley, which is still on C61, probably due to overlap with relays of Winter Hill. The situation at Tacolneston is even more interesting with both C62 and C50 allocated at DSO.

Tony Maggs: You are predicted to have good reception on all muxes both now and after switchover (23rd November 2011) from Tacolneston. Sudbury is also shown as possibly offering all muxes from 27th June 2012.

Tim: Could you supply your postcode so a check can be made of available signals in your area? Which transmitter is your aerial pointing to? Oxford is most likely, but Crystal Palace, Hannington or even Mendip might have been used for your existing aerial.

Welcome to UK Free HDTV | High definition

A.Davenport: Unfortunately this receiver is not fitted with a DVB-T2 tuner which is required to receive Freeview HD transmissions. You will have to buy a Freeview HD box and connect it to the TV using an HDMI cable to view Freeview HD. The TV is listed as HD ready, which means it will display HD pictures when fed from a suitable HD source.

alana: A Freeview box will only work with a UHF TV aerial. You need a satellite box, either a Freesat box, a Sky box (no subscription necessary for receiving free to air channels) or a generic satellite receiver.

Gill: Check that the Freeview box or TV is tuned to the transmitter that your aerial is pointing to. You are predicted to have excellent reception from both Waltham and Sutton Coldfield when using the correct aerial, Belmont, Nottingham/Kimberley and Emley Moor also deliver weaker signals to your area. For Waltham (aerial pointing roughly SE) the correct signal for MuxD3+4 is on C54- and for Sutton Coldfield (aerial pointing SW) the correct frequency is C46. Look in the 800s of your channel list for an ITV1 that works correctly. If there is one it shows that you have found a weaker signal earlier in the scan which is stored first. If possible do a manual tune for the correct set of frequencies, after first clearing the channel list by doing a factory reset. If you discover that the correct frequencies are already tuned in check for single frequency interference around the D3+4 frequency, also if you have any amplifier/booster on the aerial the signal might now be too strong, producing similar results to a signal that is weak! In that case removal of the booster or insertion of an attenuator in the aerial feed would be required.

C27 (522.0MHz) after switchover
Sunday 30 October 2011 6:35PM

D E MILLER: Check in the 800s of your channel list for BBC East Midlands. You are predicted to have excellent reception of both Waltham and Sutton Coldfield at your location. As S/C is found first in the scan the West Midlands channels are being stored in the LCN (normal) slots and the Waltham alternatives are likely to be stored as a variation. If you wish to store the BBC East Midlands mux manually it is on C61, not C27, which is the frequency for the Kimberley mast.

Dave: What is your postcode so a check can be made of reception from other transmitters which might be possible at your location.
