What a disgrace this is that Ch4 is stopping it's FreesatHD service. It can afford to pay over the odds to steal programmes from the BBC, but it cannot maintain an HD service on one of the main television platforms in the UK, I hope they suffer advertising losses for this, it's what they deserve, or is there a darker side to this, do they want us to start paying for the HD version on SKY?

Just purchased a brand new up to date TV and had a new K aerial installed and guess what from my location here in Somerset I still cannot get consistent reception of all the HD channels, it has now proved beyond doubt that digital reception on the Mendip transmitter is worse than useless in the Yeovil area. We sit on the crosswires of Mendip, Stockton Hill and Rowridge and none of them give us a decent service. If ever a place needed a relay it's here. I think it's time to pack it all in and go back to radio.

Hi Folks, thanks for getting back with the information, postcode is BA22 8TX and it is the Com 7/8 channels that are a nightmare. Mike nice suggestion on Freesat, but why should I spend even more money, as far as I can see digital is a hit and miss service, I hope to God they increase the power on Com 7/8 eventually.

Chris.SE: That may well be, but I live here and it doesn't work at all times, the signal is just too weak this far from Mendip, we are very badly served here in Yeovil.

MikeP: Just had a brand new aerial system fitted by a very good recommended fitter, plus a brand new TV, still have problems, there is no answer saving the building of a relay. I find the signal here in BA22 8TX rubbish. I used to live in Belfast with a fantastic signal from Divis, I was looking straight at the mast from BT4 1PJ, so always had a great reception.

Hi, I have to concur with Steven Seeds, the BBC4HD (COM7/8) service is a nightmare here in Somerset as well, one night good, next night total break-up of picture and sound. Yeovil and the surrounding area is very poorly served by both Mendip and Stockland Hill, if ever an area was crying out for it's own relay this is it.
