Chris:

The problem was resolved by Panasonic making some change to their software. If your Panasonic equipment is affected then contact them.

It is not up to Freeview as they do not operate the transmitters, they are run by Arqiva on behalf of Freeview. So any transmitter problem that is identifiable as definitely being due to the transmitter should be communicated to Arqiva. However, most problems are due to equipment faults in the home or the hot weather.

Serge:

Unplug the aerial lead, then do a retune. That will clear the channel list completely. Then refit the aerial and retune again. Many people have fouund that it works for them.

A Farlow:

There is no difference between any of the transmissions for either BBC or the commercial channels, they often share the same multiplex in some cases too! Similarly there is no change when the commercials are being shown, though some suggest the sound levels are increased but that is denied by the broadcasters concerned.

The hot weather patterns we have been experiencing for the last several weeks always gives rise to 'interference' due to natural atmospheric conditions causing signals to travel much further than is usual. There is nothing anyone can do and it has happened to TV transmissions ever since we started using UHF back in the 1960's.

Anon:

Please go to the Digital UK Coverage Checker, Digital UK - Coverage checker and put in your post code and house number. That will then tell you which transmitters you can receive signal from and what channels are being used to broadcast them.

The owner of this site has not updated it for several months, we do not know why.

For accurate information on which channels are being used by which transmitter, please go to the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker and put in the required information. That will then show which transmitters are availab le in your area and which channels it is using.

If you wish to have a detailed listing of which programmes are available go to http://www.digitaluk.co.u…ngs.

Your proposed new HD box will receive all the available HD and SD channels, so the boxes do not need to be 'daisy chained' at all unless you want the additional recording abilties offered by having more than one box. With two or three boxes you could record more channels at the same time and have more recording space to store more recordings.

Chris:

Please put your post code into the Digital UK Coverage Checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker That will tell you what channels are in use for your local transmitters. Select the one that you aerial is aimed towards and check the channel numbers being used. Those are the ones you should be tuned to. If not, then do a manual tune to get them. (Your User Manual will tell you how.)

The power output is very unlikely to have been reduced, but they may have changed some of the channels in use. You may need to change your aerial to a wide band type to get all the channels being offered from the relay (they always carry fewer than the main transmitters).

A Farlow:

It's not so much the pressure but the weather pattern. That has changed, as it always will, and because it is now not creating inversion layers in your general area there are fewer problems, but other may now be gtting them.

The weather effect has always been thus.

Colin Benson:

Go to the DIgital UK Coverage checker at Digital UK - Coverage checker and put in the required information. That will bring up a listing of the transmittered receiveable at your location and will tell you the channel numbers being used. It will also tell you what type of aerial is needed, some of the recent changes have required a change to use a wideband aerial.

Your area receives good signals from Winter Hill on channels 50, 59, 54, 58, 49, 37, 55 and 31. You need a wideband aerial.
