If you did not have your aerial changed to a wideband type when the channels were re-organised in February then you probably need one to replace your current aerial.

You may qualify for a free aerial replacement but you must contact Freeview by calling them at 0808 100 0288.

You need to check all your aerial connections and cables that you are responsible for. So examine all the cables that you can get at for damage, fraying, etc. Check all the connections especially all the coaxial plugs and sockets. Unplug all of those and refit as that will clear any possible corrosion/oxidation which is a well know cause of problems. Then check that you are tuned to the correct channels for your preferred transmitter, do that by putting your full post code and a house number into the Digital UK Coverage Checker website at Digital UK - Coverage checker and then scroll down to find the listing of the appropriate transmitter. That will tell you the current channels being used and also those planned for the future.

You should be aiming for a signal strength of between 60% and 85%. If that is not acheivable, then you need to contact the management organisation responsible for your accomodation to have then get the aerial system checked (each flat is usually fed by separate cables from the common splitter location).

At Redmile you are just 12km from the Waltham transmitter and should be getting a very strong signal - and that could well be the cause of your problems and why the 4G filters had no effect.

May I suggest that you check the signal strength using the facility on your TV set, usually found in the Manual Tuning option but DO NOT RETUNE. Make a note of the strengths for each multiplex. The ideal levels are between 60% and 85% - any less or more will cause the type of problems you report. If they are above 85% then you need to reduce those levels by fitting an attenuator into the aerial feed, use an additional flylead so that the weight of any attenuator does not 'hang' on the aerial input socket bon the back of the TV. Attenuators are availble in differing strengths or as a variable type that you can adjust. Shops such as Amazon, amongst others, sell them.

BTW, never give your full address on a public website such as this, that almost invites potential problems. All this site needed was a full post code and not a full address.

(As an aside, I used to live in Cropwell Bishop so I know how beautiful the area is.)

Please provide a full post code (not the address) so we can look up the expected reception conditions at your location. Also check all your aerial cables and connections, unplugging all coaxial plugs and sockets, refitting them after checking they are in good condition. That will eliminate any possible corrosion/oxidation on the contacts that is a well known source of the problems you report.

That will clear any corrosion/oxidation that is a common cause of the probl;ems you report. There are no reported problems with the Pontop Pike main transmitter that serves many thousands of homes. If there were problems then many others would have reported them but there are no such reports.

Such problems are NEVER with the transmitter else many hundred of thousands of viewers would also be affected but none are reporting any such problems, So it a problem with your system. You are 50km away from the Sandy Heath transmitter so you need to ensure that your aerial system is in good condition and operating correctly as well as checking that you are tuned to the correct transmitter. So check all your aerial cables and all coaxial plugs/sockets by unplugging, examining and refitting. That should clear any possible corrosion/oxidation on the contacts which is a well known problem. Also check that you are tuned to the correct trasnmitter for your aerial, look at the alignment of it and check that against the bearings given on the Digital UK Coverage Checker at http://www.digitaluk.co.u…ker.

Look at the Digital UK Coverage Checker for your location, see Coverage Checker - Detailed View That shows there are some inherent reception variabilities with the Horizontal signals from Rowridge. The vertical ones are not affected but that does not carry COM7 nor COM8.

It's worth checking all your aerial connections and cables, unplugging and refitting any coaxial plugs and sockets to clear any possible corrosion/oxidation. Also check that you are tuned to the correct channel numbers and have a wideband aerial in use.

Please provide a full post code so we can see what the expected reception conditions are at your location. We have no idea where you mean by Budock Water as there is no transmitter of that name. There are over 1100 transmitters around the UK.
