Russ Bridge,Manchester. The postcode you mentioned assumes you reside in Droylsden east of Manchester.Having just (briefly) cleared my complete programming from my set-top myself to test whether the ArqB mux on fr 55 from Winter Hill is transmitting,i can confirm via my set-top aerial with my signal booster on this time, that i can obtain ArqB fr 55 from Winter Hill along with SDN fr 58,D3+4 fr 59,ArqA fr 61,BBCA fr 62 (no BBCB (HD) fr 54 my box is non-HD) and as such ArqB is broadcasting normally from this mast.Hard to say about Humax PVR's as i do not have one of those mine's a Goodmans GHD2521F2 Freeview+ non HD box.

Sarah Thompson.Hard to say without a full postcode.Yes it most certainly will be down to atmospheric conditions.Click on inversion effect link !

Ann Beale.Hard to say without a full postcode. Is it affecting yer Sony Bravia freeview TV and yer two set-top boxes all together at the same time. The most likely cause being atmospheric conditions (inversion) although some viewers on the Crystal Palace transmitter have problems on Mux 2 (ITV1,Channel 4,Channel 5,ITV2 as examples) on frequency 22,here single frequency interference could be an issue.

Simon,Tarporley. In relation to the loss of quality you mentioned on the 20kw powered BBCA mux on fr 45 on the Moel-Y-Parc main transmitter, one possibility could be that since September 2011 when Sutton Coldfield mast became all digital, their 200kw powered ArqA mux also on fr 45 may in certain atmospheric/inversion conditions travel further than usual and occasionally totally overwhelm the 10 times weaker BBCA Moel-Y-Parc multiplex.Or,single frequency interference under normal circumstances could be the other cause that i mentioned above.Just out of interest look up under Freeview on Moel-Y-Parc transmitter especially a few posts texted from Sunday 13 November 2011 onwards, the answer most likely could be inversion/atmospheric conditions !

Simon,Tarporley.Dave Lindsey made a very good suggestion in realigning yer aerial towards Sutton Coldfield, only you will be viewing BBC1 West Midlands and ITV1 Central West news bulletins instead of BBC1 Wales (Cymru) ,ITV1 Wales (Cymru),S4C and S4C Clirlun (HD mux) from Moel-Y-Parc.However if yer not that bothered about different regional programming then Sutton Coldfield being a 200kw transmitter on all multiplexes is a good alternative. There is the Wrekin transmitter of course a possible alternative here again as well,BBC1 West Midlands/ITV1 Central West, only slightly nearer but much weaker,20kw BBCA,D3+4,BBCB (HD),10kw SDN,ArqA,ArqB exactly the same strength as Moel-Y-Parc mast.If you decide to opt for Sutton Coldfield you may have to externally mount yer aerial as well as using a Yagi 18K or X-beam XB16K aerial using satellite grade black or brown coloured co-ax cable and importantly fitted with a brass co-ax plug, not alloy or worse still plastic plugs, they're useless !

Marianne,Ipswich.Hard to say without a full postcode. However judging by the large amount of texts on here relating obviously to the recent relocation of ArqB multiplex from fr 50 to fr 63,broadcasting on minimal power around 2.2kw until Wednesday 27 June 2012 when it relocates to fr 56 and increases to 100kw by then along with the understrength ArqA and SDN mux's,it appears that this temporary transition to allow Tacolneston to accomodate ArqB on fr 50 from Wednesday 23 November 2011,the day when that transmitter completes DSO2,has gone a wee bit pearshaped. One remedy if it allows is to perform a manual search, only this time in this order first manually scan ArqB on fr 63,then followed by ArqA on fr 54,next SDN (listed as Mux A on Sudbury's pages) on fr 49 these first three presently the weakest, then input the strongest mux's first if you have HD the BBCB multiplex on fr 47,followed by D3+4 on fr 41 and last of all BBCA on fr 44.Hopefully this might work.If it does not then it's a case of possibly waiting until Wednesday 27 June 2012 when both the Bluebell Hill and the Dover main transmitters go all digital by then.

Robert,Bury St Edmunds. If yer aerial is directed towards Tacolneston and you mentioned many channels have disappeared including Film 4,then it is because Tacolneston is still broadcasting both low powered digital Mux's 2,A,B,C,D as well as analogue BBC1 East,ITV1 Anglia,Channel 4 and Channel 5 until the early hours of Wednesday morning 23 November 2011 when all the above will be all gradually switched off and the new 100kw (each) high powered D3+4,BBCB (HD),SDN,Arqa,ArqB mux's are gradually switched on as such.If you're currently receiving the new 100kw high powered BBCA multiplex from Tacolneston on fr 55,my advice wait until the early hours of Wed 23 Nov 2011 when the transition from analogue/low powered digital switch off to high powered digital only transmissions are eventually switched on takes place.
