Simon Gest.By manually deleting the ArqB multiplex from Sudbury, and manually scanning the ArqB multiplex from Bluebell Hill instead.

Winter Hill (Bolton, England) transmitter

Helen,Manchester. If you are referring to the main Winter Hill transmitter then from my location which i can receive Winter Hill programming (to some degree being a marginal signal area in HX2 9JY,number 3 location due to the Pennine Hills) there are no problems as they're booming where i reside. (With signal booster plugged in my set-top aerial). Have you checked for water ingress in your aerial cable and rust stains on your aerial plug plus aerial socket as such, etc. As Winter Hill being currently a group C/D transmitter (using normally green tipped group C/D antennas) transmits on the higher frequencies and these are most often affected by low/no signal quality due to water ingress by rain.
If that is the case the aerial co-ax cable and aerial co-ax plug definitely needs substituting, and even the aerial itself if it is old or the wrong type.

Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) transmitter

Phil,Halifax.Have you tried Winter Hill as their tranmissions can be received in certain parts of Halifax itself.I can get Winter Hill in my locality (somewhat problematic though, but receivable),and as your postcode is HX2 7UA somewhere in Wainstalls area of Halifax itself slightly higher up,you could possibly get Winter Hill more stable as such.I dont have HD equipment myself so i am unsure about any lost audio on all the HD channels from both Emley Moor and Belmont itself, but if you can receive Winter Hill where you are try their HD channels whether its audio to is affected or not as such.

William Davidson. If you leave a full postcode preferably or a nearby location as such,we may be able to distribute further advice and assistance to you.
The full postcode is to ascertain the reception possibilities in your locality as what you specified there could be another mast which possibly could impede the signals you receive at your abode.

Ian.Wisbech,PE13 3RP.Sorry for my delayed reply but now you specified your postcode as such,is it only Channel 4 and Channel 5 that are giving you difficulties or is it the entire D3+4 multiplex that are problematic as Channel 4 and Channel 5 are all on the D3+4 multiplex on any main transmitter and relay mast.By inputting your full postcode is your aerial polarised horizontally and if so is it directed at either Sandy Heath,Belmont,Tacolneston or Waltham main transmitters. The D3+4 multiplex from Sandy Heath is on frequency 24,from Belmont it is on frequency 25,from Tacolneston on frequency 59 while from Waltham this is on frequency 54.There is a possibility that single frequency interference could be a likely cause in the affected room as such from an electrical appliance, etc.I would look up single frequency interference underlined somewhere in this text and you may have to perform a total resetting procedure as such.Try bypassing the splitter and see whether any improvement (in the room affected) is made.Or use a set-top aerial (if you have one),a piece of wire or a wee screwdriver inserted into the aerial socket of your appliance (in the room affected) whether that makes any difference whatsoever.
Just out of interest what transmitter/s are you on which i mentioned above, and as an indicator which local news bulletin/s do you receive in your house ?
