David. If yer referring to the Zone on programme No39 on the SDN mux on fr 51,that was the only recent new service found just recently a week or two ago,i did a full manual scan some minutes earlier and apart from what i mentioned no other new services were found, not yet anyway.Although within a week or two on the freeview platform Channel 5 +1 is due,but with a few wee changes involved elsewhere on freeview as a result !

Londonderry (Northern Ireland) Freeview Light transmitter | frFriday 18 November 2011 12:29AM

John Marlow,Londonderry/Derry.In the early hours of Wednesday 10 October 2012,a little after the BBC2 analogue signal is switched off on fr 44,DSO1 will begin. The new higher power BBCA mux on 2kw from the Londonderry/Derry relay will commence broadcasting also on fr 44 around 00:00am (midnight) 01:00am.Two weeks after in the early hours of Wednesday 24 October 2012 the remaining four analogue stations BBC1,UTV,Channel 4,Channel 5 will be forever switched off and replaced by two further new multiplexes D3+4 on fr 41 and BBCB (HD) on fr 47.If your existing (vertically polarised) aerial whether it's a group W wideband,or either group E or group B type gives you stable reception there is no need to change it.Bearing in mind you will not be able to receive SDN,ArqA & ArqB mux's on Londonderry/Derry mast as it will only carry the PSB multiplexes only.If you want the COM mux's if reception allows you,you will however have to realign your aerial to face the main Limavady transmitter polarised horizontally, possibly you may have to upgrade yer aerial if you point it to Limavady itself,a group W wideband X-beam XB22WB antenna or a superior quality group E Yagi 18E antenna using satellite grade black or brown coloured co-ax cable, and importantly fitted with a brass co-ax plug, will give you not only the full package from Limavady itself but also much improved reception from this transmitter itself 20kw powered PSB mux's and 10kw powered COM mux's,compared to 2kw PSB (no COM) mux's from the Londonderry/Derry relay.

Neil,Scunthorpe. There were atmospheric conditions/inversion affecting much of eastern UK (a few like myself further west too !) during the last few days or so and Sunday night 13 Nov 2011 was no exception. There were no direct transmission problems whatsoever with the Belmont mast at that time, the inversion effect was the cause of Belmont's on and off signals, and as three of my mux's are from Belmont itself BBCA fr 22,D3+4 fr 25,SDN fr 30,i too suffered from loss of signal on and off,but i fiddled with the manual scan function (signal booster for a time switched on) and picked up temporarily SDN fr 31 from Sandy Heath, all but the BBCB (HD) mux's from Waltham and even Digitenne fr 32 from Leeuwarden in Holland/Netherlands,i knew it was atmospheric conditions itself.

Lesleyh.Stockport,SK4 3NA.First see "My freeview box (or TV) has no EPG,is blank on FIVE,ITV3,ITV4,ITV2+1,has no sound or the channel line up is wrong" section. You will have to perform a resetting procedure exactly as outlined in this section. Also is your aerial horizontally polarised and located outside,in the loft or an internal set-top antenna.Importantly is it directed at Winter Hill,Moel-Y-Parc or The Wrekin transmitters,or from Saddleworth relay which is polarised vertically. If you are using an amplifier/signal booster try and remove it !

buckers24.Yes.The 71% strength denotes you do have the strength of the signal concerned, but the 0% quality does certainly denote you do not have the quality of the signal as such hence no channels. To receive any signal as such yer signal quality must be 100%,99% or less does lead to pixellation, picture break ups and upon 0% signal quality total loss of reception, the classic "No signal" mode. However a signal strength of 73% or 75%+ denotes too much signal, this too in excess can lead to pixellation, picture break ups and even loss of reception as well.
