Sheila Horseman: BBC Four HD has moved from COM7 to the COM8 multiplex. To give any meaningful advice we need to know which transmitter you're using, please provide a full postcode which will enable us to see your predicted signal strength and where you are in relation to the transmitter etc.

James Pedder : Gold isn't broadcast on DAB in Edinburgh. It used to be on the Central Scotland multiplex but was removed some time ago.

Mr Andrew Thrasher: Firstly, most indoor aerials are rubbish, they are often little more than a piece of wire sticking out of any amplifier which will amplifiy all of the unwanted noise along with the wanted signal. You are predicted to get reception from Sutton Coldfield (61km approximately North of your postcode) as well as Lark Stoke (7km approximately West although predicted to be lower strength). I would suggest that your indoor aerial is totally unsuitable for your location and you really need a properly installed aerial on the roof or in the loft to get good reception.

John: BBC Four HD has moved to the COM8 multiplex. Do you get BT Showcase HD on channel 115? Please provide a full postcode (the first half covers a wide area and won't allow us to access your coverage prediction).

Marshall: No, you can't get a reduced TV Licence. You can receive the BBC channels which are funded by your licence fee for all 1,000+ transmitters, the ones which you have lost are broadcast on commercial multiplexes and receive no licence fee funding. If you provide a full postcode we can look at the coverage prediction for your location and offer further advice.

Marshall: You've only provided a partial postcode, we need a full one to access your coverage prediction. Use one from a nearby shop or pub etc if you don't want to give your own postcode. You only loose the HD versions of BBC Four and BBC News by using Knockmore, the SD versions are broadcast from every transmitter.

Peter: What signal strength and quality readings do you get on PSB1 and PSB3? As there are over 1,000 transmitters across the UK, 38 is no where near being most of them and represents a small number which currently have planned engineering work taking place.

John: If the problem has been happening for months then it is almost certainly your aerial system that is at fault. Start by checking for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV.

Victoria Grugan: The obvious answer is that you quite likely have a fault with your aerial system somewhere such as a loose connection or damaged cable etc, so start by checking all the cables and connections behind your TV. What signal strength and quality readings do you have on the channels that are breaking up? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted signal strength etc.
