Raymond Snashall: Freeview transmitters are not switched off overnight. It's likely that you're suffering from electrical interference from something in your home or nearby operating on a timer. Likely culprits are anything with an electric motor or cheap LEDs with poor screening.

Chris.SE: Nope, I'm still having to use 4G to post comments and get blocked out of the site at random for usually a few hours a time some days :(

Paul Maidens: Virgin Anthems is carried on the SDL National multiplex, which is not broadcast from the Cirencester transmitter. You're most likely receiving SDL from the Blunsdon transmitter near Swindon, with perhaps some weak signals from Oxford or Mendip.

Stockland Hill (Devon, England) transmitter

Andrew : D1 and SDL are commercial multiplexes, they have no obligation to cover any particular area or broadcast from any particular transmitter. Adding D1 to Bridport would only gain coverage over a small area. SDL are mainly focused on covering large/densely populated towns and cities, which Stockland Hill wouldn't add much to, as SDL is already broadcast from Exeter St Thomas and Beacon Hill, which cover the most populated areas that would be covered by Stockland Hill.

nick horrex: Sky News is still on Freesat channel 202.

Al Jazeera is broadcast on the COM6/ARQB Freeview multiplex on LCN 235. The version on LCN 267 is streamed via a portal on SDN/COM4, which is accompanied by Al Jazeera Arabic on 268.

Adrian : Crystal Palace is horizontally polarised, not vertical. Unless you're in an area with poor signal (you're predicted to receive a good signal) it's generally recommended to use a Group T or wideband aerial type which receives the whole UHF band (with a 700/800MHz filter to prevent interference from 4G/5G mobile services) such as a log periodic, rather than a grouped aerial.

Lionel Hayward: The Hemel Hempstead transmitter is currently listed for planned engineering work, unfortunately no details are given of what the work involves or when it is due to be completed. Do not attempt to retune, as this may delete your correctly tuned channels.

Steve Donaldson: The BBC satellite backup feed usually carries London (there is only a single backup feed rather than a separate one for each region) so that would suggest that the transmitter may be having issues with its main feed (which according to the MB21 site is fed by fibre rather than off-air from another transmitter). ITV3 and ITV4 moved to the PSB2 mux several years ago and should be broadcast from Kendal, along with ITV1, ITV2, Channel 4, Channel 5, E4, More 4, Film 4 etc.

Al Jazeera English

Alistair D Cahill: Al Jazeera have decided to close their broadcast channel on Freeview. This isn't their website so nobody here can answer for them as to why they have made this decision. Al Jazeera English is still available to stream on Freeview channel 251 on compatible internet connected TVs/boxes.
