Andy: Transmitters are never switched off, except during periods of maintenance or due to faults. You are most likely suffering from some sort of electrical interference cause by something operating on a timer switch either in your home, or a nearby neighbour.

Dennis Foster: Are you able to tune in to other national commercial stations such as Absolute or Radio X which are broadcast on the D1 multiplex alongside Classic FM? If those are working, try resetting your radio.

Linda Burnell: Please provide a postcode so we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter. Also, have you checked the cables and connections behind your TV? A loose or damaged cable is the cause of many problems and is often easily fixed.

Peter Wharton: Have you checked the signal strength on any of the channels which aren't working? Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables? Start at the back of the TV and work your way towards the aerial as far as you can safely access. If the aerial cable is connected via a socket on the wall, try swapping the cable between the wall and your TV for one which is known to work with another TV as these cables can be easily damaged and many are thin and low quality.

Dover (Kent, England) DAB transmitter

Martin Turner: It would be up to the stations to pay the multiplex operator on a commercial basis to transmit their stations. Being on a multiplex that covers a whole county is probably unaffordable for most community stations, however Ofcom have been trialling small scale DAB which covers a smaller area at much lower cost and is planning to offer this in the future to stations which are not yet on DAB, subject to government approval (see article linked below for more details).

All free TV channels in the UK
Thursday 5 January 2017 6:45PM

Blue: If you have that many channels you are receiving a main transmitter (most likely Mendip or Wenvoe if you are seeing Welsh channels). Unless you have duplicates from another transmitter then with 139 channels tuned you are probably receiving everything available. If you can receive all the channels listed below (one from each multiplex) then you will be able to receive all the others:

1 - BBC One (PSB1)
3 - ITV (PSB2)
7 - Local TV station (if you are within coverage of one) (Local Mux)
10 - ITV3 (COM4)
11 - Pick (COM5)
18 - 4Music (COM6)
101 - BBC One HD (PSB3 - DVB-T2 tuner required)
107 - BBC News HD (COM7 - DVB-T2 tuner required)
55 - 5Star+1 (COM8 - DVB-T2 tuner required)

Victoria rance : Is ITV working on channel 3? Both are carried on the same frequency (along with Channel 4 and Channel 5) so we need to know if those are working to offer further advice.
