Richard Baylis: Frequency changes are planned and co-ordinated by Ofcom. You would be wasting your time with a petition as these changes have been planned over the last few years (in conjunction with the rest of Europe although nothing to do with the EU) in order to free up the 700MHz band so that it can be auctioned to the mobile networks for future 4G/5G mobile services when the frequency clearance program is completed in 2020.

BBC News HD & BBC Four HD are broadcast on the temporary COM7 & COM8 multiplexes. Removal of +1 channels isn't going to happen as they are all broadcast by commercial broadcasters who pay for the broadcast capacity used for theses channels and removing the few that broadcast full time on Freeview (several of them are just placeholders that only broadcast for a couple of hours overnight to reserve a channel number) would not create sufficient space for a HD channel anyway. E4 HD is a subscription channel which only exists as a result of receiving subscription income from Sky and Virgin in exchange for the HD version being available to their subscribers.

A. Whorton: The frequency changes at Brierley Hill were completed early this morning. All multiplexes have moved to new frequencies, so you will need to retune. If after retuning you still have no channels (or you are missing lots of them) you should contact the Freeview Advice Line (see link below) who will arrange for someone to come out and fit a new aerial (free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable on any TV in your house).

EMMA PARSONS: We need to know which transmitter you're using in order to provider any meaningful advice (please provide a full postcode). Without that information we can only offer general advice such as to check for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV.

Gary Colby: COM5 on UHF C33 is broadcasting at 100kW the same as COM4 & COM6 so the most likely explanation would be that you're using a Group C/D aerial which gives a poor response as C33 is outside of the frequency range it was designed to receive. If you contact the Freeview Advice Line (see link below) they'll arrange for someone to fit a new wideband aerial (free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable).

MichaelW: Malvern was previously a Group C/D transmitter so you may well need a new aerial unless you previously had a wideband aerial installed for reception of Freeview prior to digital switchover. If you don't have satellite or cable you should be able to get a free replacement aerial by contacting the Freeview Advice Line. Ridge Hill will continue to use UHF C29 for the PSB2west mux until at least 2020, although this changed broadcast mode and reduced power on 1st March in order to reduce interference with other transmitters. If you provide a full postcode we will be able to see the prediction for your location and offer further advice.

Linda Hackett: All multipexes broadcast from Brierley Hill have moved to new frequencies and you may need a new aerial. If you contact the Freeview Advice Line (see link below) they should be able to arrange for someone to fit a new wideband aerial free of charge if you don't have satellite or cable.

Stephen: Have you checked if any of your neighbours who use the same communal aerial are successfully receiving COM8? Have you contacted whoever is responsible for maintaining the communal system? They may need to modify it following the frequency changes as many communal aerial distribution systems have filters to block unwanted transmitters, which may now need changing.

Tina: There are no faults or recent engineering work showing for Bluebell Hill. If water had gotten in to your aerial or cabling it may have caused a loss of signal, which then returns when it dries out. If that is the case then the problem will likely repeat itself when it rains again.

Karen: No one can possibly answer that with no information. Have you lost any other channels? Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see which transmitter you're using, where you are in relation to it and your predicted signal strength etc.

Mel: COM7 & COM8 broadcast using DVB-T2 (this has nothing to do with the frequencies they are broadcast on) and are therefore only receivable on TVs/PVRs/set top boxes that support DVB-T2 (most will have the Freeview HD logo).
