Judging by the aerials on Streetview, pointing in different directions, reception doesn't appear to be easy. I may be suggesting something that's already been dismissed as a possibility, but if you could receive from Mendip then you'd have all the channels.

Del Hintze: Check that the receiver is tuned to the correct transmitter (the one that the aerial faces) for each multiplex signal as one possible explanation for what you're experiencing is that, for example, you were tuned to the wrong transmitter for BBC (when it was working poorly) and now you're on the right one (but the wrong one for other services.
A look on Streetview, most aerials are pointing to Tunbridge Wells (aerials vertical at just clockwise of east) so a view of signal strength screen whilst on the following should indicate where you're actually receiving from. If your aerial is pointing to Tunbridge Wells then you should see:
BBC One = C52
ITV = C49
BBC One HD = C47
ITV3 = C42
Pick = C44
4music = C41
Some aerials point to Crystal Palace, so if that's you then please say. Indeed, if you say where your aerial is pointing then guidance may be offered as to what you should be tuned to. If your aerial does face TW and you discover that you're tuned incorrectly then advice may be given on how to work around it.

nickwilcock: I'm a little puzzled. There is nothing on C29 from Oxford. The only C29 I can think of is COM4/SDN (ITV3 etc) from Waltham, although I think you're too far away to have any chance of that
Pop and QVC Extra are on the "local" multiplex which is (or "will be", if it's not on air yet) be on C51 from Oxford. You are really on the edge of the "beam" for this channel, which is directed primarily at Oxford itself.
Digital reception is all about the "digits" which make up the picture and sound being present and correct. Some errors are correctable and it's possible therefore that the "poor" is saying there are errors but the good picture means that they have been corrected. The point is that your reception of that channel may be "marginal" meaning that a little change to the detriment of reception may push you over the cliff edge and leave you with no reception.

Allan Moore: Because it is a different platform. With the exception of Public Service channels it's up to broadcasters which platforms they're carried on.

stevecoles: There are a number of "local" TV channels which are carried on their own multiplexes (signals) on which Pop is also carried. This is why you can't get it.
