Freeview reception at KA28 0AA

For reliable and stable Freeview reception, you need an unobstructed path between the TV aerial on your roof and the digital TV transmitter. The map below shows the transmitters predicted to provide a signal at this location.

You can click on any transmitter symbol to show the coverage area as a green overlay on the map. Double click on a transmitter symbol to go to the transmitter information page.

You can also view the ten closest potential '4G-at-800' mobile phone masts within 1.5km of the selected location - these masts may be used for 4G-at-800 mobile broadband services from 2013-2015.

John H Williams: You've asked the same question previously yet you don't seem to have bothered to read and understand the answers given. Dave Lindsay clearly explained the situation back in March: Ten more HD channels on two new Freeview HD multiplexes on air from 2014-18 | Freeview news | ukfree.tv - 11 years of independent, free digital TV advice

Dolgellau is a small 4W relay serving 1,800 homes - can you imagine the expense and running costs that would be incurred upgrading the mast to carry 3 more multiplexes? Even if they did decide to upgrade it, you can be sure that hundreds of other relays would be higher up the list.

The map shows 9 mobile phone masts within 1.5 miles of my location (pl12). I have poor reception from both Plympton and Caradon hill therefore have aerials and masthesad amps for both. It is therefore predictable that with 4G I will have problems.

How will I be notified of 4G commencement and how do I initiate action to resolve the problems. (preferably before they actually disrupt my reception?

many thanks

Stu

Stuart: The nearest mobile phone masts that I see to your location are on Callington Road near to Lollabury Road and with neither of being connected with 4G.

As far as Caradon Hill is concerned, its very unlikely that reception from that station would be affected anyway because of its operating channels spanning from 21-28 and as such being too far removed from the operating frequency used by 4G to be affected by signal swamping, i.e: the tuner being desensitized by the presence of a powerful RF signal being detected close to the frequencies used by the Freeview transmitter.

Plympton on the other hand spans Ch's 42 - 58, the latter being the HD channel on Ch58 and which is vulnerable to being interfered with, and so if this transmitter is being used then it might pay to fit a 4G filter in line just in case!!

That said, if its considered by at800 the company contracted to supply filters to those who are deemed to be at risk, then if they consider that any possibility exists that you might be affected then they will automatically send you one "free of charge" filter, although you can purchase these from numerous outlets at around £9.00 or so.

When I listen to BBC Radio Scotland at the weekend to listen to the football on Sportsound, I can only listen to half a match, as the Transmission get's cut off at 14.00 every weekend.

Why does The transmission for Radio Scotland stop at 2pm? there is no point in listening to only half a football match.

I hope someone can help

Thank you

I retuned my TV as requested by channel 15, it stated it was moving. I now am receiving local BBC Look North from Tyneside instead of Yorkshire, please help, thank you Christine.

Christine Boden: Your TV or box has possibly picked up the Bilsdale transmitter rather than Emley Moor which I assume that you normally receive from? if after you had carried out the auto-tune you were not given a "regional choice" option? then you might eventually have to manually tune in the channels required, but first of all try this method which sometimes works.

First of all remove the aerial and carry out an auto-tune to blank out the channels already stored, once completed take hold of the aerial connector and carry out another auto-tune whilst at the same time carefully observing the progress bar, then and as soon as its seen pass around Ch35, or about half way along its travel, immediately reconnect the aerial again and hopefully this will only allow Emley Moor to be picked up.

kate young: Try deleting channel 15, then re-tune. Otherwise do a factory reset to delete all channels, then re-tune. Film 4 has been added to mux PSB2, so it is now available from all Freeview transmitters. For an interim period the version on ArqB, which currently shows the annoying message, will be withdrawn.

That should say "After an interim period, the version on ArqB, which currently shows the annoying message, will be withdrawn".
