My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Having problems in Northampton (NN1) with two Humax boxes. Original 9200 has been in use fine for YEARS - come 30Mar11 BBC's started playing up - low/fluctuating signal and quality.
With a view to getting HD (is it true this should be available from 15Apr11?) I just purchased a Humax HDR-FOX T2 and have same issues. BBC channels v poor. Tonight lost any decent reception of ITV,C4, C5, etc. Have reset, re-tuned no aerial, re-tuned again and still no good. Nearly all channels now just show garbled output...Any suggestions?

Rob Durant: Yes, the Digital Switchover is certainly a "serious issue".

David Brightman: Freeview HD started for you yesterday.
Your problems suggest you may have too much signal - if you have any boosters, amplifiers or similar, remove them from your system.
You will need to do a "first time installation" on your equipment, due to the switchover.

trudy: There was engineering work at the Brierley Hill transmitter on Tuesday and Wednesday. It's supposed to be finished but may have overrun.
You might need to retune again, because the recommended procedure is to delete all the channels, so the box now doesn't know where anything is.
The works were supposed to be finishing at 6pm so perhap try retuning this evening?
Otherwise go to BBC - Reception problems and report the problem.

Mat W: If you're using a communal aerial, your building management may need to get the system reconfigured to take account of Mux A moving two weeks ago (carries 5* and 5 USA among others) and Mux 2 moving yesterday (carries ITV1, ITV2, C4, C5). These multiplexes have changed channels.
They will also need to take account of the many other moves going on at Waltham both before, on, and after the published 'switchover' dates.
The list of dates, and reasons, are at
http://www.digitaluk.co.u….pdf
There are suggestions for users of communal systems at PARAS - Professional Aerial Riggers Against The Sharks .

Hi,
i live in Suffolk, East anglia; Post code IP28 6HR. We have had a Digi box and got all the Freeview channels without problem for several years. We have an arial in the loft, but that has worked fine for those said years. However, Over the past days the signal on channel 4 and the ITV channells had patches of working and then being compleatly blank. This increaased untill now when we have Compleatly blank (except for the occasional bursts of sound) on Channel 4 (and friends: E4, More 4 etc.)and ITV 1. From looking at the multiplex things we can get them except for 2 and D. I tried the advice at the top of the page but to no avail and have retunned several times.When I retune sometimes the channels compleatly disappear 9Leaving bbc 1, bbc 2, bbc 3 etc. in that order) But at a later retunning they reappear! Any ideas/help?!
thanks very much!
