My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound o
To deal with the problem you must clear the channel list completely and then rescan - if your box has it in the menus, please the 'installation menu' to do an initial scan or a reset to factory settings or First Time Installation. You MUST delete the entire existing list of channels. On most boxes this technique can be also be used:
Try this:
1) unplug your Freeview box (or idTV) from the mains;
2) unplug the aerial from the Freeview box by disconnecting the cable from the 'RF in' socket;
3) wait 30 seconds;
4) plug Freeview box (or idTV) mains back in;
5) do a complete scan for channels - it will fail without the aerial. (This may be in the installation or initialization menu, and is distinct from any 'add channels option'). Once this is done your channel line up should be empty;
6) reinsert aerial by reconnecting to the 'RF in' connection;
7) do a complete scan for channels again.
The Freeview channel line-up provided by six "multiplexes" - each of which carry five or more TV channels, radio channels, text services and EPG data. In this diagram each ROW represents a multiplex. If you are still missing a whole multiplex (ie everything on the row) you may need to replace your aerial with a wideband type, purchase a larger aerial or you may have interference from a VCR, games console, Sky Digibox or similar.

Jackie: Or rather than replacing the entire TV, you could get a Freeview HD box for under 50 and connect that to your TV via HDMI (or SCART if the TV doesn't have a HDMI socket).

Stuart :
Do you get any of the other programmes carried on the COM4 (SDN) multiplex? Do you get Drama, 5USA, E4 Wales, etc? If so you should be getting the Paramount network as it on the same group of programmes on channel 42 at 641.8 MHz. Check the signal strength on that multiplex reported by your TV set but DO NOT RETUNE.

Glad that worked for you, but it is always a 'last resort' solution. So what problem were you trying to resolve?

I used to be able to get the full range of channels including bbc HD up until autumn 2018 but then it stopped working. All though I am in east oxford, my aerial was pointing to the crystal tower towards london.
I have no re aligned to point to the oxford mast but still can ant get HD (all the rest are fine)
I've done a full tv hard reset and re scan but still no luck - any inspiration!?

Nick: Please provide a full postcode so that we can see your coverage prediction. East Oxford covers a large area.

In addition to that said by StevensOnln1, you need to have a wideband aerial to receive all the multiplexes broadcasteither by Crystal Palace or Oxford as they both use channels 55 and 56 for the COM7 and COM8 multiplexes. They changed to that usage earlier last year and a old 'grouped' aerial is not suitable any longer.

I've recently lost BBC News and the other channels on ch55 from Sandy Heath. How do I get them back. I've tried rescanning several times.
